The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well, vey selfishly Corin is not gonna let anything dampen his spirits 'cause he's just about done with the painting. I need to rehang the close door and touch up the paint, the put a coat of white on the door facing the hallway.

Wife, Nana and Luke are gonna run up to IKEA to pick up the lights that weren't in stock when we went a couple of weeks ago. Since it's the wife's birthday I'll get a chance to run out then.

Wonder what I should do....now what did she do for my birthday? Oh yeah...nevermind...

Glad to hear you're done with the painting!

Why has it been so quiet here today? We're usually chattier than this!

Bay has been laying down and getting back up and laying down and getting back up this morning... we are afraid he may have colic.

Get your bathroom all steamed up and bring him in there.

Well, I'm off. Bothers may come over later to watch a movie (or share cookies), so I may or may not be around this evening.

See ya!

ksen, you're an overindulgant father. My sisters tried to eat my cookies before I'd finished with them and I got mad at them...

By the way, I wanted to mention that there are at least three translation mistakes in the first episode - "Sorcerer's Stone" is used instead of "Philosopher's Stone"; at one point, someone is moaning about missing an arm when it's his leg that's gone; and the round fat stupid-looking guy is called "Gluttony", not whatever they labelled him as... the other episodes have all been much better.

RE popcorn smiley..... Good grief! ;~D Pass the popcorn.

RE Bay.... Doesn't appear to be serious, but colic can be. Old horses die from something, and bad colic could kill a horse. It ain't like tummy aches in babies or people. Horses are like rats, they can't throw up. IF they eat something toxic, there is only one way out, and they have to digest it. Surgery can sometimes remove it, but that costs more than my net worth right now. Here's the update I did for the horse thread.

To: PayNoAttentionManBehindCurtain

Vet's been and gone, Bay perked up at the sight of the vet, and tested fairly normal, vet said he's had a LOT of colic lately, he said, it's so hot and dry now that perhaps the pastures are all eaten down to dust, and the horses either eat too much dirt or, because he's back in the woods, maybe they resort to eating shrubberies that they shouldn't eat and normally wouldn't.

He gave him Banamine injection, I have moved him to the front pasture where I can watch him, maybe he is just a wee bit sick or he was really just looking for a comfortable spot to lay down and I overly panic, but trusting as he is, it was still odd for him to not get up when I nudged him. Put the halter on and really talked LOUD to him before he got up. I think he's got a belly ache, minor perhaps, but better to be on the safe side. He's grazing on the dry grass and dandelions in the front. I sure wish it would rain and get the dust down.

Pic of him before we got him up, he's apparently fine and out in the pasture now.

He don't look so hot in that pic, but you say he's doing better now - thank goodness.

I guess there isn't an equivalent to Chamomile Tea w/Anise for horses, is there?

I think the Banamine is supposed to help if his system is inflamed from something bad. On the horse thread, Becky's horse coliced this week, and she is giving him Maalox for a possible ulcer.
