The Hobbit Hole XIII - Let them pass! Let them pass!
See our freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net home page! ^

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Unfortunately it didn't do any good. Harrisburg is corrupt...

Hmmm--wonder if I can get that here. What network carries it?

Corrupt in what sense?--left-wing-type or mob-type? (which are not mutually exclusive of course.)

Just finished the first episode. You're right, the end is cool. Another anime technique I picked up from watching: you can add a sense of distance if you superimpose/subimpose a regular shot over/under a blurred shot. Usually the blurred shot is in the distance, but sometimes it's up close to give a sense of foreground nearer than the eye's focus.

It says I need to shut all my Explorer windows to download a Windows Media update that could take up to 57 minutes, so back in a while.

When I gave Clare and Joseph the CTBS tests at the end of their 6th and 8th grade years, I got the test packets and scoring from BJU.

We've got a nasty storm blowing through here right now. I'm grateful for it because maybe, just maybe, it'll put an end to the annoying brush fires.

*sigh*

I'll be heading home in it though, so wish me luck! ;-)

I've probably mentioned it before in reference to looking up movies for kids, but Kids In Mind is a great site for just finding out real details about a movie to decide whether or not you and the Mrs. would like to see it, too!

Something about their ratings system/synopsis makes me laugh every time: "A man hits another man. A man kisses a woman". I don't know whether it's brilliant, or really stupid.

LOL!! I know, it is definitely 'blow by blow' but it gives WAY more detail that we like to know so we can decide whether or not Joseph and Clare can see it.

It's kinda like what that South Park Anime episode parodied. We don't mind some violence, as long as it's not gratuitious, and with the language, they know what's accepted in our house and what it not, but we don't want a bunch of recreational sex in the movies they watch. They don't need to see that at their age.

Oh, come on, gratuitious violence is fun. (kidding)

But you let them watch anime, so you obviously aren't just banning things indiscriminantly!

they are just sitting in the living room watching a week's worth of science classes!

Isn't that fun just watching them sit there enjoying learning something!

Joseph used to watch "The Magic School Bus" and "Bill Nye, the Science Guy". He LOVED those shows, and he learned a LOT from them. Still talks about them to this day! We taped every episode of "Magic School Bus" and he used to watch them over and over! Clare enjoyed them too, though she was just a little older than the target audience.

Yeah, but I trust Clare's judgement on those. For sure they ain't watching hentai!

Eww, no.

I trust Clare's judgement, too - at least, she's three-for-three for series recommended to me so far. That's why I want her around! Also for her company, of course, but I don't actually know anything about anime...
