Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Have you considered that, if you use a flamethrower, it'll be really easy to remove the resulting ashes from Jr's room?

I haven't finished catching up yet, but if your around and you still want to do the party, you can go to www.georgewbush.com and click on party for the President. You should be able to search by zipcode. That might tell you what you need to know.

LOL! I can see how that would be fun for teachers, too :) In some of the chem classes here it was more the students, though, and less controlled! There were delinquent kids who couldn't pass chem but still managed to learn what chemicals they needed to blow things up. One really bad kid blew up a bunch of the lab.
Had a lot of interesting experiences in chem class. Some of the kids would try to cheat by looking at my test over my shoulder while I was writing. It was funny because one time the chem teacher pretended like he didn't notice they were doing it, but then when the kid got up to hand his paper in, he goes, "So how come you're handing Fedora's paper in for him?" :)

Well actually the room is clean. I need to prep it to paint tonite. I may even get the ceiling painted.
But the heat/humidity of mowing zapped me pretty good...plus my knee...plus I didn't get enough sleep. I'll get some stuff done. Just prolly not as much as I want to.
To: RosieCotton
Oh, sorry. I didn't follow thru on the ones here either.

Yikes! What was all in it?

Jen, You might not like this. Take a glass, put some whiskey in, add an equal amount of lemon juice then about half as much honey as you put in whiskey, stir it up and drink. And don't forget to take about 6 Aleve with that!
Right 2J?

Nothing too crazy- just various "salt" solutions. But it did look gross.

"Well now that would have been responsible of me wouldn't it? I'll check it out tonite."
LOL! Okay. It helps on stuff like that most if you get it on right away in the early stages of the bruising process, so it's too bad you don't have it handy. But it will help clear up any bruises that develop, and should be useful for the arthritis stuff in any case.

Speaking of people who might be Dwarves, that sounds like a very Dwarvish suggestion coming from a non-Dwarf :)

Okay, I just asked my martial arts friend who used to live in Japan what "dono" means, and he says off the top of his head he can't recall either, though it might come back to him later. What context is it usually used in?

You're really sure you're not a dwarf?Well, since my head is over the counter when I go to the library, I'm pretty sure I'm not........and the fact that I actually go to a library......

Interestingly, a couple characters in FMA use "-dono"According to the glossary in the back of one of my Lone Wolf and Cub volumes... "dono" is an archaic honorific used for higher ranked or highly respected figures.
