Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

good morning... you have a FReepmail!
To: JenB
Whatever works for you. If you've got nausea the chamomile tea version would help with that as well, except you don't like tea.
Good excuse for ice cream, though.

A FReeper friend of mine just informed me that their elderly father has been diagnosed with pneumonia and the outlook doesn't look good. Please pray for them and their family.

And I have a praise report on Benny. He is better today. He is gonna make it. He's talking - slowly and with difficulty. And he's moving somewhat. They say it will take time and rehab but it looks like he will regain more of these.
They said that bouncing back this fast is a *good* thing. But, of course he really lives a non-healthy lifestyle so I know they're gonna try to get him to change some eating habits and quit smoking etc. HEH - Good luck. I don't see that happenin'. But, prayer can affect that too.

Oh, that's wonderful! I'm so glad to hear it.
And as for Colorado, if you get there, I'd love to see you, but if you can't, I understand.
Just got off the phone with the guy who wants me to do systems. He'll let me know tomorrow. He has to talk to the head of the department and make sure they didn't have other plans for me...

Thanks for ya'lls good wishes and prayers.
Benny obviously means a lot to me. God puts people in our lives to fill empty spots. My real dad just never managed to be a dad. I think he just didn't ever know how. Growing up my Grandparents were my parents. You all know how I was with Grama.
I met Benny in my early 20's, a few years after Pepaw died, and he filled the "dad void" after that death.
Carol told him this morning that she'd called me last night. He made her call me back this morning to tell me there was nothing wrong with him and he'd be home soon. Of course she told me the real story too. But it is good to know that he cares whether I'm worried or not.

Ive added you to my prayer list, alongside Wneighbor. I will try to do a vigil within the next three days. The names on my list are piling up, unfortunately!
God bless everyone in the Hobbit Hole!

LOL...awwwww...
Do you wear knee breeches, club your ponytail, say things like "smoke and oakum", "dont count your eggs till they are in the pudding" or "have their cake and lie in it", and go skylarking in the rigging???

To: Overtaxed
That's disappointing. Well, I suppose I still need to watch it just to see it once. I'll probably watch Pt. 1 again first, though. Need to read the novel, too, sometime--I heard it's even better than the movie.
