Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm gonna have to look for that book that splains stuff about life at sea in the Aubrey-Maturin novels. Some things just make me scratch my head and go HUH?

Just got a call from my younger sister that my Mama went home to the Lord tonight. I'm sad that she's gone, but happy that she has been released from the mental pain of the Alzheimers that claimed her for the last 7 years. I'll miss her, but I've been missing her for the last couple of years because she just hasn't been 'there' like she used to be. I know she's happy now, though, cause she's with her loving God and my Daddy and her family and friends who have gone before are there to greet her, and that's the most important thing.
I'll be flying home early Friday morning; I have a commitment to Clare's Girl Scout troop tomorrow, and that's important to me. I know Mama would understand, and there's nothing that I need to be there for tomorrow anyway. They're planning a Friday night wake and Rosary and a Saturday funeral. I'll stay until late Sunday, or maybe even Monday to visit with the family.
Please keep me in your prayers for a safe trip!

Suzi, you and your family will be bathed in my prayers tonight as I go to sleep. I am sorry for the grief that will come as a normal part of this but am glad that you have that confidence of your mom's presence with the Lord now.
I know these last couple of years have been particularly difficult with the Alzheimers. I'm glad for the release but, oh so very sorry for your loss. You have all my sympathy and love at this time.

Very sorry to hear of this loss SuziQ, no matter what the situation it is very trying to lose a parent. It sounds like you have a lot of family to be with. I hope you have lots of good time with all the loved-ones you'll be with on your trip.

I understand this has been so long coming. I admire your faith that withstood these years while you and your Daddy both waited without her.
But I will tell you this, my mom, your memories I'll keep
I'll hold them safe inside my heart, 'til God wakes you from sleep.
Whole Poem
Have a safe trip indeed, will be thinking about you.
