Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Keep in mind, with these spidey photos, all the lights were off and the flash on the camera was on. (It was pitch black expect for the TV.)
With the baby sister photo, the flash was off and it took forever to get a photo without it being blurry (due to the lighting, it had a 1 second exposure).

God on high
Hear my prayer
In my need
You have always been there
He is young
He's afraid
Let him rest
Heaven blessed.
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.
He's like the son I might have known
If God had granted me a son.
The summers die
One by one
How soon they fly
On and on
And I am old
And will be gone.
Bring him peace
Bring him joy
He is young
He is only a boy
You can take
You can give
Let him be
Let him live
If I die, let me die
Let him live
Bring him home
Bring him home
Bring him home.

Corin, if you choose to get Master And Commander, let me recommend one of the "'splaining" reference books. Now wait a minute, nobody said there'd be homework...,may this ain't fer the beach either...
To: All

Then again you knew of what I spake.

Becky goes back on August 11th, instead of the end of August. Missed this post I guess with the phone call. Sorry for Becky that she has to go back to school so soon. Tell her I'm sendin' sympathy and hugs. :-(

When I did the Annual Meeting in Seattle, we had a private function for the board members at Chateau St. Michelle. The sponsors brought in Gary Morris for a concert.
He sang that with just his guitar to accompany.

Wow, that must have been awesome.
I got to see Les Mis performed by one of the national touring companies in St. Paul a few years ago. Don't remember who played Valjean in it, though.
My other favorite is Phantom of the Opera. Got to see that one in Phoenix.

Have you watched Pt. 1 lately? I'd be up for that sometime--but we'd have to start at the same time, LOL!

I'm not all that fond of Phantom.

Lotsa history here, Master Dwarf ... what we consider to be the Napoleanic Wars were very different on water. Some of the accompaning books have maps; others, like this one, are full of history and fascinating trivia.
Someone once said that the Napoleanic Wars were the last gasp of the "pre-humanist" age. The barbarity and ignorance of the era --- and the nobility and capability --- are equally showcased. The science is atrocious, but the music is delightful. I'm frankly addicted to the historical period, and the Master and Commander books really illustrate the times in a way the more rigid Hornblower cannot.

Thanks Rose.
I figger if I can read about 5 books a day for the rest of my life I can get caught up...

It's midnight here, folks.
