Thank you all for coming! And for everyone watching and participating from home via that camera, we hope you can enjoy the day ~almost~ as much as being there!
Yeah, the novel and some of the later novels - I read the Timothy Zahn ones, and Michael Stackpole's, and a number of others. Stackpole's were decent military SF!
VCR? What century are you in, man?
I confess I still don't own Star Wars on DVD.
I do, however, own both the original version AND the new release version on VHS, though my family has the original version on perma-loan, pretty much.
LOL! I have a DVD in the other room too, but there's a method to my madness :) See, if I watch the VCR version instead of the DVD version, I can see the original without the extra added stuff. Remember they added the stuff when they re-released it?
I haven't read the later novels yet, but the ones I've heard described to me sound interesting. You ever read Brian Daley's "Han Solo at Stars End" and "Han Solo's Revenge"?--those were two of the other earliest ones. And then there was the Marvel Comics spinoff--I had like the first 80 issues of that at one time, now I think I only have the first six (covering the adaptation of the movie) and a few others. Those were fun! They'd have Han Solo doing, well, solo adventures and stuff.
I actually don't have the DVD of the first three movies, either. I have two different VHS versions: one boxed set of the original movies and one boxed set of the re-released version with the added material. Plus I think I have a version I recorded off TV the first time they showed the original on TV.
Gonna go exercise a little--back in a bit.
G'morning! The folks just called, they're on their way here.
We don't have Star Wars on DVD either, mostly because by the time they were released on DVD we'd more or less lost interest.
I'm back! It's up to the Cantina Scene. Obi-wan just laid the smack down on Walrusman. They're about to meet Han. . .
BTW, how far'd you get in "Dracula"? I finished Chapter 4.
I've always wondered how come Princess Leia has a British accent up to when Alderaan is destroyed and after that she has an American accent--hmmm. . .
I read a bit more last night. I think Jonathan has escaped - it's gone off to England now. Fascinating. I love the old style writing.
Grr, and now I've got a nasty little problem to solve here at work...
Confounded relatives! Hanging on the bell all day, never giving us a moment's peace!
Just kidding - should be a fun day. Pray for their safety with pony rides.... we've done this before but lots of little folk and big animals is always a game of chance!
That sounds like the chapter ahead of where I left off--Jonathan was just about to try to escape. The old-style writing is pretty neat, yeah.
What's the nasty work problem?
They catered Jack Stack at work today for some corporate big wig....need to go walk before a major insulin attack occurs.
What's Jack Stack?
Oh lordy this afternoon is dragging...
KC barbecue. I over did it with the frosted fudge brownie with nuts.
Mmmmm...brownies! Someone brought some in?
I work with mostly guys, single ones at that...not sure whether it's a plus or a minus that it means people rarely bring in food...
A plus at least for another six months or so, I guess! The less chocolate available the better.
Yeah, well, she's been on the computer WAY too much and not getting her work done! She had been working on preparing an Anime Music video for Connecticon, which is coming up in July, in W. Hartford CT. Don't know if it was accepted; she hasn't heard.
She's working on finishing a course that supposed to be done by the end of June, HA! I'm being a slave driver the next two weeks!
Hi, OT, I'm just lurking, getting ready to cut the front lawn, got the back cut yesterday before that gully-washer came through! Wish I'd had BBque, I had my usual, a PBJ. That brownie sounds just heavenly! Did they provide milk to accentuate the experience?
Rosie, Jack Stack is the restaurant where we've taken both OT and RMDupree when we've mooted. It's a wonderful place for Kansas City style BBque.
Completely understandable!
Can I have this?
