Welding business? Are they going into the welding business togeather?
Those kids are going to remember this for the rest of their lives as the wedding with the horses. I am sure that they will be talking about it for a long time.
Glad y'all are having a bit of fun today!
"Hey Rosie... I promised to tell you how I liked "Dracula". Only about halfway through but I'm quite enjoying it. It's not that scary yet, either. A couple nervous moments, certainly, and some interesting bits... very clever style. It's a - what's the word for a book written in the form of diary entries or letters? And that delightful old language."
The old language is neat :) I don't remember the word for the letter style--is it "epistolary", maybe? My Dracula Cliff's Notes says Stoker probably borrowed the style from Wilkie Collins' mystery novel "The Woman in White".
You didn't think Castle Dracula was scary, though? I thought it was creepy--but in a cool way :) One of the things I really like about "Dracula" is the settings--Transylvania/Castle Dracula on the one hand and 19th-century London on the other.
"I'll let you know if my opinion changes but I think I'm going to have to make you check it out of the library. It's so nice to have a genuinely evil vampire, modern vampires are all just Freudian symbols and nonsense like that."
That's something I like about it, too, and why I prefer Stoker to Anne Rice. Stephen King's "'Salem's Lot" is also really, really good along those lines--he basically takes Stoker's plot but moves it to the late 20th century.
"How can Lucas turn him from the still-good Anakin to the evil Vader in one movie? With time enough to be daddy to Luke and Leia?"
I wonder about that, too! He sort of already sowed the seeds of Anakin turning evil in the last movie when Anakin freaked out over his mother's death and killed the Tusken Raider village. I suspect the Emperor is going to somehow tap into that anger and convince Anakin the Republic is responsible for his mother's death. As for fathering Luke and Leia, I'm still wondering about that. Somehow after Padme gets pregnant she has to get away from Anakin so he can't find the kids, and she has to get Leia to Alderaan and Luke to Tatooine with Obi-wan and Owen. Plus Yoda has to get to Dagobah, and R2 and 3PO have to get wherever they're going, and the Emperor has to reveal himself, and Anakin has to have his showdown with Obi-wan. Should be a lot of action in the next movie!
I always wanted the soundtrack when I was little! Finally got it at a used record store a few years ago. When I was little I only had an LP which had pieces of it along with the dialogue. Also had the sheet music to play a few of the songs on the piano :)
GMTA! Abigail is getting baptised on Sunday. Make sure g'nad gets pictures posted (I need to remind PE to get the batteries recharged if we are going to get pictures!).
"Heh...I actually just looked. I could do it...for $1568."
Oh, well, that's not too. . .what, what, WHAT?!!! :)
