Thank you all for coming! And for everyone watching and participating from home via that camera, we hope you can enjoy the day ~almost~ as much as being there!
Least he didn't get any naughty breakfast pics!
No it wasn't a sound, just a LOT of text. I tried to go on to his website where he said I could hear the sound, but it was too much work...
You know I never got tuh see the naughty breakfast pics...
OOPS! That didn't work!
You tried to play the sound file: bucket.wavThis sound file is no longer available from the web site you visited.
You can find it and listen to it at http://frogstar.com/wav
I do not allow other web sites or forums to use my collection of sound or media files this way.
My name is Jeff Goebel. I run a web site called Frogstar which has over 2000 sound files.
It personally costs me a fair chunk of cash each month to provide my collection of sound and media.
When somebody tries to use these files without giving me credit, they're costing me money I get no benefit.
Sorry. It probably isn't your fault. You're probably just trying to hear a theme song, or funny movie quote. I'm not blaming you.
You can still play, or download the file you were looking for.
There are a lot of cool sounds at http://frogstar.com/wav
If you're creating a web site, you can even re-post it on your site if you wish to. Then it'll be your bandwidth. I claim no ownership of the files themselves. They're ALL stolen from somewhere. I only claim ownership of the collection, and where they reside on the Internet. If you want them, take them... just don't play them directly from my site.
Hmmm--sounds like I need to find a better Python site for future purposes :)
I always thought it was fun to leave the bear rug on the floor just to freak out the dogs. When the dogs are bad you just point at the rug and tell the dog: "that's what happens to bad dogs!!!"
Yep, that's it. I don't reckon it was really nasty. What's a little bandwidth stealing amongst friends...
haddahelluvatime the past few days dealin' with Tricare, the VA, and the hospital...
the VA scheduled therapy... the hospital charged tricare(=no care)... tricare denied the claim, and wuz comin' after me... the VA was supposed tuh pick it up, but didn't cuz they never got billed... the hospital has to refund tricare (=no care) the pittance they paid and re-file the claims with the VA...
oh... and I need to see a doc to renew my therapy referral, but two of the three VA docs have left, and the one remaining is booked thru November...
I think we got a handle on it, but it took three days and Lord knows how many hours on the phone...
I can do it if I have to, but I really don't like getting close to the hardware. I guess I like conceptual stuff better than the nitty-gritty... one course I was looking at was, basically, programming with registers. I decided that wasn't me.
I like programming. Not so much the actual code, but... today I had to analyze a small system someone else had put together in order to make some updates. It was really fun figuring out how the files went together - it was javascript and asp using lots of xml files - and playing with it, and I enjoyed myself so much that I managed to do the documentation part in an hour, and that stuff usually kills me.
That's why I want to go to grad school. I don't want to build one tiny part of some huge system. I want to learn how to think up the new idea, and apply it, and watch it come crumbling down around my ears the first three tries. I want to be the best I can be at some aspect of CS - don't know precisely what yet. Maybe AI, maybe systems. I want to be an artist who works with computer languages. I want to have my articles published in boring technical magazines and try desperately to explain to my mother what exactly it is I do for a living... oh, this stuff is my passion. I never ask myself if I went into the right field.
Huh. I didn't get that when I test-cicked it before I posted.
*blushing*
Now THAT'S just not right, ecurbh! Not right at all....
pro'ly fer thebest...
We got a doc in the box comin' after us 'cause we took Jr. there on a Sunday (the day after a football game). They filed the paperwork wrong and insurance refused to pay. We've been going back and forth between the two and have been assured it was taken care of. About every 4-6 months we get another nasty-gram.
Reckon it ain't likely I'll be visiting the emergency room for football injuries this year...
I'm beckoned...
You prolly heard it first at the original site, but the message kicks in when you try to put a link to it on another location (like FR).
As if Gidget didn't already have enough mental issues. Why don't you just tie her under a bridge, near crashing waves, with Good Morning playing on the radio and Animal Planet on a TV nearby. It would be kinder. ;-D
*sigh* I'm just sittin' here until 1:00 a.m. when it'll be time to go pick up Jr....
That just sucks, g'nad. I'll be praying for quick resolution.
Drag g'nad.... bastages...
