"Our fellowship has broken"
Sniff--this is as sad as the scene where Gandalf falls into Moria. . .Flat Frodo is screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

"Just read the books..."
I feel like I already have! :) Just teasing! I didn't succumb to the temptation to read the spoiler text--yet. . .I'm resisting the temptation: "Ridikulus!"

Oh, yeah, James and Sirius were probably the most obnoxious students... but at the same time people remember them kindly (the scene in PoA at the Three Broomsticks), so that can't be all there is. All right, so part of this is that four years' worth of built-up ideas take some shaking... because I know they weren't always evil little twerps. Look what they did for Remus. Actually I respect Snape for eventually breaking out of his background, and the death eater stuff. He managed to stop being actively evil, even if he is nasty and mean. It's Sirius who maybe didn't ditch his background as effectively as he could have - I think ingrained childhood prejudice is what made him suspect Remus of being the spy. And probably why he looked down on Snape so very much - Snape would be from some lesser magical family that's probably been bossed around by Blacks and Malfoys for a millenium.

Here's Wneighbor finally getting to spend some time with Bay... She's not been real comfortable with horses since getting bitten as a kid.... and Bay was some good therapy.

"They're fairly mild spoilers, really...character related rather than plot related. But...you'll get there soon enough."
I'm getting there! :) Had to take off a few days to get some stuff done, but I'm a few chapters into "Goblet of Fire". I'm almost to the part where Harry discovers Darth Voldemort is his father and Obi-wan lied to him--whoops, sorry, that was my HP/Star Wars fanfic idea :)

Our fellowship has broken... Not if we hold true to each other. We will not abandon 2J's suitcase to torment and death. Not while we have strength left.

Cool pics! Glad WN and Bay got along :) Bay looks really well-groomed, BTW.

Yeah, Sirius definitely has more of the class snobbery going on, though he'd never admit it even to himself.I guess I just need a few days for everything to sink in. Even though of course that memory was almost certainly biased...it still came as sort of a shock. Silly, isn't it?

Ok, picture this - my sister reading that passage aloud to the whole car full of siblings. Every time some revelation comes up, squeals of delight. A couple laughs at the bits about Sirius looking "bored, but handsomely so". And then... it goes into the Snivellus torture scene. Up until the moment Sirius went through the arch, that was the worst moment in the book. I'd spent four years building up bright shining Marauder-pictures. They were fun, naughty, but generally decent humans. And then that. I'm not really over it yet either.

No. Next summer if we're likely, summer after if we're not. If it's next summer, we should hear by February.
