AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1244) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 17, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 06/17/2004 4:20:37 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

UOx42 tells Dan Rather he feels his being the only elected President ever to be impeached as a "badge of honor"!

Dan Rather, in his turn, gives UOx42's book, My Li[]e, five stars.

An explosion rocks central Baghdad, and at least 25 are dead with scores injured.

The Club for Growth, bowing to the wishes of the Reagan family, will hold off airing ads that show the similarities between the President and Ronald Reagan, and the differences between the late commander-in-chief and Sen. John Effin Kerry.

The Post Office announced they will issue a Ronald Reagan stamp next year.

And, finally, all are not happy with the coverage provided to former President Reagan's funeral activities. New York Times' Frank Rich writes in a column to be published Sunday: the gratuitously attenuated aerial shots of the hearse streaking on California freeways to Simi Valley carried an eerie visual echo of the [O.J. Simpson] Bronco chase. Then there was this from Morley Safer: The dirty little secret of the week: The outpouring didn't live up to its hype. 'There was this kind of extraordinary outpouring not by the public but by reporters who should know better. They just can't stand it when they're not the center of attention.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

She's got a number of good friends seeing her thru this....one has suffered herself from breast cancer, plus she's got a wonderful husband...he fell off their roof about 3 years ago and survived!

Now we have the strangest light in the sky!

Do you remember that dress, Peach?? Am sure enjoying it!

How are you otherwise feeling??

Oh guess what??

I got an email from a friend awhile ago. She'd gotten an email about John O'Neill and his fellow veterans and their campaign against Kerry.

L. wanted to know if their charges were based on fact, unlike some weird emails we know we all get.

He, he, I reassured her they were indeed on target!

Plus, we have the Kerry testimony on tape, so I offered it to her to judge for herself.

jtill ... I am thinking you are looking for a plant named Justicia .... or Shrimp plant ... also known as Acanthaceae?! It's a genus of an evergreen perennial. Its bloom looks very much like a shrimp! No kidding ... It produces tubular spikes of flowers which are white/pink with a purple lower lip?! Or ... it has a bloom resembling exactly a shrimp ... pink outer edges and a creamy center ... there are growers in Oregon which grow this plant. Do you want me to find a supplier for you?

Every time I am out in the garden, I think of you.

I have transplanted a lot of stuff to the outside of my north fence line. The idea is to have a flower border on the outside of the fence, tying it in to the inside border.

More stuff to do, but I have made progress.

It is definitely an evergreen and has beautiful medium sized, shiny leaves. The leaves never lose their shine and they are shaped rather like a hydranga leaf only smaller and narrower. However, the blooms are definitely only pink - no other color on them, but each petal has two little stamen with a yellowish pollen on them. When the bloom dies, the petals all wilt and they leave a pine cone shaped green growth. (If this all makes sense.)

I never thought of the blooms as looking like shrimp, in fact I always thought they looked rather like what we used to call Red Hot Pokers.

The plants I have (only 2 left - 3 killed by frost over the last 20 years) are about 5 feet tall and don't get any taller and they love the shade. I've never seen them anywhere but my Mom's backyard!

Does this sound like Justicia?

That pretty dress...yes, I remember. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Nothing to boost our spirits like a pretty dress. One of the few pieces of enjoyment we can purchase.

We just had a whopper of a storm.....I've been rebooting for a while - trying to get back on the internet.....

There's a huge limb hanging over the house - We have a very big maple in the front yard and it broke a bit. Not too bad but too high up for me to get - will have to call a tree guy.

Two of my neighbors cedars were completely uprooted....they're laying in the street complete with the root balls

Another limb in the back

I mean another grandbaby will soon make his/her appearance...

Not soon enough ... *sigh*

Frankly, right now I'm put out with the doctor. The baby isn't due until the 28th but 2 weeks ago the doctor assured d-i-l that she would make it no longer than 1 1/2 to 2 weeks, thus getting their hopes up. And no baby yet. Had the doctor left well enough alone, all would be well ... they wouldn't be looking for their daughter's appearance for nearly 2 more weeks. The doctor wasn't very prudent, IMO. Not prudent at all.

illstillbe ~~~ one day I hope to be here at the same time that you are again ... but your posts are a breath of fresh air regardless of whether I am here when you write them or not.

Speaking of wee ones ... you had mentioned a wee lad whose illness both his mother and your daughter were having trouble dealing with. How are they all doing?

We do so wish that you would understand that you are free to use all the bandwidth you want ... 'tis never enough, from our viewpoint.

(((((illstillbe)))))

Yikes! I just checked radar and you may have more on the way.

I have been keeping an eye on the storms out your way ... hoping that son wasn't having to race to the hospital with his wife in the middle of it.

The doctor says she could go any minute ... they have been quite impatient this week. I think they're going to Baptist. It's west of town. We take the Cedar Bluff exit, go to the left, turn on the next street to the right, go several miles, and can't miss it on the left ... so they say. We hope we can find it when the time comes ... or at least hope that son leaves his cell phone on to help us when we get lost ... LOL!
