If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Oh, gather 'round me, comrades; and listen while I speak Of a war, a war, a war where hell is six feet deep. Along the shore, the cannons roar. Oh how can a soldier sleep? The going's slow on Anzio. And hell is six feet deep. Praise be to God for this captured sod that rich with blood does seep. With yours and mine, like butchered swine's; and hell is six feet deep. That death awaits there's no debate; no triumph will we reap. The crosses grow on Anzio, where hell is six feet deep. . . . Audie Murphy, 1948 |

I love bluebirds - we have them at our farm. One year, a momma bird built a nest in the flue of an old woodstove we had in the old farmhouse and a couple baby birds fell down into the stove. We had to rescue them - they were so tiny and pretty!!

    Morning Sam!!

WOW what a beautiful picture of the Bluebird. I have see these birds up close and real - truly they are beautiful.

Nice Tribute poem to them.

Good selection of golden oldies. Thanks for all.

Haven't seen a bluebird since I moved to Oregon. The area around my house doesn't support them. :-(

I've had to rescue a lot of "into the window" birds at my place. Most just need a moment of rest and they're on their way.

This is a Sam quote if I have every seen one. LoL

Poet John Gay said, "Life is a jest; and all things
show it. "I thought so once; but now I know it."

ONLY in the quiet lulls between being battered by rocks, bashed into trees, chased by previously thought harmless critters, and bouncing off car hoods..
ONLY then is there an end to the adventures.
And then I'm quite bored.

    House Call

 Of course I'm staying!
You say the way he looked at me when I beamed aboard.
 You heard his words.
 He needs me!
This Goddamned ... "thing" out there
 Has him worried.
 Confused.
 ...scared.
And Jim Kirk's enough of a man to ask for help
 When he needs it.
 To admit his fear,
And to make the right decisions
 When the time comes.

 So, of course I'm staying
To help in whatever way I can.
 To offer advice,
 Support,
 Friendship.
To be there when he needs me.
And I'm staying for one other reason.
Because 'he' isn't here at Jim's side
 As he always was before.
I know how much Jim feels his absence.
I can see it in his eyes,
 Hear it in his voice.
This ... separation has been too hard on him.

 Damn!
Spock ... if you only knew how much he needs you.
 But then ...
 You must have known,
 And still you left him.
For the life of me, I can't figure why.
Unless ... you realized you needed him, too.
If only I could've helped you find a way
 To accept your Human half.
Maybe you'd be here now ... with Jim,
When he needs you the most.
But I'm not a miracle worker,
Just an old country doctor making one more "house call",
 Here...
 Where Jim needs me.
Yet knowing the one he really needs
 Is light years away.

 So, of course I'm staying.
 But, God help me, Spock,
 I wish you were here.

Morning Sam, Well, one never knows what you will "find" in your daily poem search. Star Trek, I love it! I watch old reruns of the best space show ever - everyday.
Love the picture of Bones. Reminds me of someone I know.
Really a good find Sam and thank you.

Another rain and overcast day -had a down pour a few minutes ago.

Gonna grab a coffee and turn on the tunes. How's tricks with youl?? You got sun?

Overcast right now but supposed to clear up.

The Original Star Trek series was good. Didn't care for any of the Spin offs. My wife loved the Voyager series.
