People at the BBC are flapping about a major story!!
My cousin who works as an assistant editor with BBC News in London just phoned to let me know that he has been advised to be available this weekend for a "major" coverage news story. He mentioned that all the big wigs and senior editors and producers have been in meetings all day and there are major rumors about a story that has been covered by a D Notice (the supression of a news story in the UK which may be damaging to the National Security).
He also said that the managers are working and planning at a frantic pace not seen since Princess Di was killed. Almost everyone knows that something is going down but the management are saying that it is to do with the funeral of Regan on Friday but they don´t believe a word of it.
He knows a few people on the top floor (secretaries) and they mentioned some people having a meeting today with the Board of Governors - there were a couple of names mentioned but he has no idea who they are - M or N Wilkinson, J Grieve and someone else named Ormand or similar - any ideas??
Thats all he could say but something is not quite right.
Fire at will captains.
"Flatten your house, anywhere, anytime."
"The whole principle of naval fighting is to be free
to go anywhere with every damned thing the navy possesses!"
Admiral Fisher, Royal Navy.
Is USS Reagan armed and ready or still working up?
My pointless post of the day.
Great commercial, FedEx is second only to ESPN for great ad campaigns.
If not, you might as well stay home.
Just a hunch.
FMCDH(BITS)
I heard the same thing about exercises being conducted right now.
Then there are the carriers that are in port that have to go out on 1-2 week quals before their next deployment to make sure the carriers and their battle groups are ready.
There is no way the USS Lincoln is out on deployment because they had the nine-month extended deployment during the Gulf War and haven't been back in port long enough to be redeployed.
Well, there are 12, not 10 carriers.
If the USS Lincoln is the carrier based at Everett, WA (I think it is), a day or two ago I heard it was ordered to re-deploy.
Ah yes the Great Aluminuti Conspiracy
..is this the reason we wear tinfoil hats?
Shhhh...
Don't tell anybody this, but we're invading Canada.
It is the one in Everett! That's early as they haven't been back that long compared to how long they are normally in port. That crew is getting a workout. My daughter in the Navy had friends on board from the air wing that flew Pres Bush to the carrier and know they were hoping to be back at least 18 months before deployed again.
My plan is coming together perfectly.
And when it is complete, it will all be revealed.
Six ships training out at sea at once? If I thought there was anything to this story, that would hardly disprove it to me.
Yes, I believe I heard the redeployment story on Northwest Cable News Network in the middle of the night, about the same time the meteor flew over! (No, I don't think I dreamed it).
