Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Walking doesn't bother me either. I've always been afraid of how I would GET OUT of the car if it went over. it's not exactly something you practice, you know? Like "Ok class, today is "Drive off a bridge and get out of a sinking car" drill day!
But I did the Royal Gorge bridge walk with no trouble...swaying and everything...when I was a kid.

He's at Ft. Lewis, which is about 7 miles south of the City. He may know of E-9...but if not I can provide very easy directions (the freeway exit he'd take is the same you are taking, just from the opposite direction!)
It's pretty well know, and they have some military clientele there...the Ft. Lewis Ranger Newspaper is free there for patrons. It'll take him 20-25 minutes maybe, depending on traffic.

Ya know, somehow nothing about ya'll wanting to go to that grand opening surprises me! I wouldn't mind going there myself. But, I gotta see what else is on the agenda. Gotta pick up OT for sure.

Well, I told him the place and the time and I told him that if he needed to know where it was to let me know and I'd get him the info. :-)
Goodnight! Talk to ya tomorrow. :-)

Don't even know if we'll be able to go, let alone the timing... for instance, I don't know if it will be open to the general public. Rose is supposed to check on that.

The Square Foot Garden idea would work well for you, Rosie. You'd only need to enrich a small amount of your yard, so you wouldn't need as much stuff. You can grow an amazing amount of veggies in a small area. There is a book called "Square Foot Gardening" and I bet you could find it in your library. It's over 20 years old now, cause I bought it when it was new, and we'd just moved into our first house in NJ.

Saw PoA on an IMAX screen today. It was just awesome!! I really enjoyed this film. It didn't seem as cutesie as the first two, though the choir singing at the beginning was a strange thing. I loved all the new actors, and it's fun seeing how grown up the main characters are getting, especially the twins!!
What I thought was the most strange was the change in the topography. Hagrid's hut is no longer at the end of an expanse of lawn, and the Whomping Willow is nowhere near the school buildings anymore!
The Dementors were suitably creepy!

Much as I hated to see the Soviets win Gold Medals in the Olympics, I always loved hearing their national anthem. Did they keep the same one when the USSR came apart? I haven't watched the Olympics much since then.
