Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

She chased the dough-dog out of the yard one day and, in classic cattle dog fashion, nipped it in the rump. She stopped at the property line and returned to Big'ol's side. Good girl!!

Rickman's voice makes me swoon. He could read the phone book and make it sound romantic!

That shot of Mt. Rainier is looking right over toward me! Amazing to see that inlet so narrow at low tide -- from my angle here it is quite a wide body.
We are looking across the mouth of Wollochet Bay, and you can see Point Fosdick there between us. (see arrow). So, we aren't yet looking at the narrows, that's one more point over. But we could have seen a bottle rocket if you fired one!

We'll have a whole fresh bag of those little red potatos. Best ballistics from those!

I didn't know (or register) that there was that little inlet there. The passage across to Fox Island looked unusually narrow too.

If you prefer, you can have an Irish coffee for me. That's OK for the morning, isn't it? It's 5 o'clock somewhere...

It's narrower than usual! Low tides around midday through the weekend too, have you been on any beach walks?

I think we have the same weather here, Corin. Ugly, not actually raining, and cool. Yep, I just told the guards to close the pool. Saves me payroll.
Wife is out shopping and then meeting with another teacher. Not sure what we'll do this afternoon. Lots to do, and my "to do" list says rainy cool days are for the attic.
I don't wanna.

I haven't been! But alas, my weekend is crammed full up with engagements and duties (no work, Thank God!). I am just off now for my first set of errands, then back to watch the horse race, then down to Olympia (ironically) for the evening.

I am glad you reminded me about the potato cannon.... gotta make sure we have that ready to play with...

Mmmm....eggses were good. I used a JarJar egg (she lays the white ones, right?) and one of the brown eggs (one without the little pin-sized dots).

Mornin'/afternoon all.
I am purdy busy at present. Keepin' 6 kids for a friend. Ages 5 to 15. I've been hoppin' and the DVD player quit on us this morning. Fortunately we got a 3 of *the* movies watched yesterday. Both EE's and then ROTK.
Had some storm damage. Lots of little stuff, nothing really major except that my fridge did not come back on when the power did. Friend of mine used southern engineering to get it back working but he told me I am gonna need to buy a new fridge soon cause this won't last. *sigh* Don't have new fridge in the budget either.
Last thing - Scott, Ruthy, 2J, Ramius - got an email this morning from my nephew Chad. He would like to go with us if we do something on the 17th. He is off work that night.
