Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

It is Tolkien-ish. Means, vaguely, "Elf-maiden". Hurin's wife was named Morwen Eledhwen because she was almost as beautiful as an elf.
I chose it because everything else I wanted was taken.

You're friended!
I understand! I wish this sort of thing had been possible when I was in college. I might not have had half the problems I did then!

Wow, A hobbit thread with less than 200 posts. When did you start this one, an hour ago?

I'm thinking about getting another LJ that I use for "out in the open" stuff, you know, day-to-day routine without personal thoughts. Then when I'm away from home, I can use it to let my parents and friends know what I'm up to.

Oh yeah, I can imagine how totally lost you were!!It was quite confusing starting with Two Towers, LOL! I don't remember getting angry at Frodo. I do remember being worried about Merry and Pippin when they were captured, and anxious about Gollum's plotting against Frodo and Sam, and really concerned when Sam lost Frodo. I also remember being very upset when Gandalf fell at Moria!

There's a general page for the whole family and then each member has a site.

It'll be a month or more before I decide. I might just 'sanitize' my current journal and use that. Um, wouldn't want my mother reading a few of last year's entries. We get on better now.

I have to go myself...back to work!! Am bringing a friend over this afternoon that I am working VERY hard to turn into a POB fan...she doesnt have a DVD and is on a VERY limited income...she wants to watch Master and Commander...woo hoo!!
you know, I am starting to see a theme in the fandom I have : all the characters I have crushes on are very military/fighter type characters.
My hubby is only an engineer. Does it count that he was *this* close to entering the Marines, but got talked out of it by Stupid Academia?????

Better than me. How do I end with crushes on the mildly bad boys? Faramir's almost an exception. He's the kind of guy I really want; but the bad boys are so much fun to watch onscreen...
