Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...That none have seen but we alone.
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I usually use a blender. But my blender isn't here so I'll have to use something like this:
To: RosieCotton
Oh. Just blend up a bunch of dried cayenne peppers.
To: Overtaxed
But...you put whole dried peppers in a blender or something?

Ah, OK. I figured that's what you meant, but I wasn't sure! I've never used pepper flakes...I have cayenne powder, and I'm JUST at the point where I'm not afraid of slicing fresh hot peppers. ;-) Mom wouldn't use 'em...said you could burn your hands badly.

Right now all my hot peppers are dried and that stuff can burn ya. Just make sure you wear latex gloves or take you contacts out before handling them.
To: Overtaxed
I bought a bunch of disposable gloves and just use those...usually wash 'em with soap after so I can re-use a few times. First time I cut a jalapeno I didn't. Lucky it wasn't anything hotter, 'cause some of the juice got under my nails and hurt like the dickens!
But...once they make it into dinner, they're very tasty!

So just imagine inhaling hot pepper dust. Even a particle mask doesn't keep it all out.

Book's always better. Very true for the Harry Potter movies so far. I hear really good things about this one, though.
Meatloaf wasn't too bad, but Mom's still in a bad mood. It's so lousy, Dad's tired of it. And he's not blaming us, for once.

I'd rather not imagine it. Ow!
Gonna go for a walk, inside I guess. Keeps raining off and on, and we got hail this afternoon. Not big stuff, at least. Be back in forty minutes or so.

David says thanks for the offer of the Apartment Locater, but he's got one. It's good to hear from someone who knows the area, though.
Turns out, our #1 son, Paul, who just finished his first year of Law School, is thinking about checking Austin for a summer job next year with the idea of heading down there when he's done with school. Buying a condo would be a good investment made even better if both of them are there! David will keep a lookout while he's in the apartment next year for good areas of town that are still convenient for him for UT since he doesn't have a car. Paul has wheels, so he can get wherever he needs to go no matter where they live.

Neither SSQ nor I have been to any of our reunions for the same reason you mentioned. We've kept in touch with the people we liked. Next year will be the 35th, but I haven't heard from anyone whether or not there will be one. Don't know if I'd even bother; I remember some of the people, but wouldn't know what they looked like at this point. I guess that's why folks have to wear name tags!

Check out this weird blue wine.... called "Hawaiian Blue" - $3.00 per bottle, bright blue, tastes like a pina colada, and look.... the ice isn't even floating! Bizarre chemistry there!

I'm back! Walked uphill for 20 minutes, which was really hard. Guess I bin slackin' lately.
Now...I'm hungry again.

I like it! Rather unnatural, though. What kind of wine is it?
