I don't know if he was paid or not, but he certainly made it tough for newbies and some others seeking honest information to get it at times.

I think his "I'm an 'American Conservative', you all are just liberal sheeple" lines were what made me shake my head most about him.

As I said on several posts to him and I still would, I don't know WHAT he is, but he is clearly not conservative.

I'm going to repeat what you just wrote on that thread... I hope you don't mind:

Holy Moly.
He and I went round and round more than once.
He kept trying to force the arguements down his predetermined argument points.
And when that didn't work, he'd label everyone socialists, communists, maoists, militarists, or worse.
I got called all of the above.
He also stated to me that he was against 'anti-intellectual anti-french bigotry'.
(This was during a small 'discussion' about whether or not France was our 'western brother' as he put it. I'd said they were no longer an ally but a backstabbing faux ally turned enemy giving aid and comfort to terrorists and their regimes.)

When and how did this happen, and how did I miss it?

That's what used to upset me the most about him. That he would hijack threads and turn it all into being about him or who was the "real" conservative.

Newbies and lurkers would give up trying to get information. When that happens on FR, we've lost.

The threads he did this to were some important threads too. WMD and Saddam's decades long relationship with OBL.

Glad this got posted, even if it got moved to chat!
