Curves are for keeps
May 14, 2004
MEN are more likely to stray if their partners are slim, a survey has found.
Men with skinny wives and girlfriends could be interested in appearance alone - and on the lookout for someone even more attractive.
In contrast, seven in 10 faithful men prefer their women size 16 or over.
The revelations will be little comfort to Victoria Beckham amid claims her husband David had an affair. The former Spice Girl, who captivated the footballer with her curves, has become much thinner since they married.
Nearly half of more than 1200 men questioned in the survey admitted cheating. Most of those had slim partners.
Sixty-four per cent of men with a partner under size 12 confessed to straying compared with 20 per cent of men with partners above size 12.
Seven in 10 of those with slim partners also said their lovers were too worried about appearance to enjoy sex. Eight out of 10 of those dating cuddlier companions said their love lives were "fantastic and uninhibited".

I wonder if clothing sizes are different in Australia than in the U.S.? A woman who wears a size 12 (U.S. sizes) isn't my idea of skinny.
That must make Laurie Dhue the 2nd nicest* woman in the world.
*(Angelina Jolie is #1)
Do you consider 5'10" and 115 pounds fat?????????
Quick, head for McDonald's!
Now that you mention it, all the skinny women I dated in my "ute" were Democrats.
Skinny girls are less likely to be good cooks (and even when they can, tend to impose weight-watcher inspired flavorless crap on their families far too often). Full-figured gals are way more likely to know their way around a kitchen.
As men get older, offered a choice of a better looking woman versus a terrific lasagna dinner, most will go with the lasagna. :-)
(Heh.)
Nah........I'll just have another helping of ice cream!!!!
What is it with all of you people and your stereotyping of skinny women?????
I wouldn't know about this.
My spouse makes Monica L. look like Twiggy (used to).
Besides; she's way tougher than I am, and I don't relish the thought of being sat upon!
Lighten up. It's a joke.
Heck no. I read your other post after I made mine and I hadn't given any thought to someone's height. D'oh!.
I'm 5'4" and weigh 90 pounds. I make Ann Coulter look fat! ;^)
I'm still wondering about the difference in sizes between countries, though.
I don't buy this study for a minute BUT I will say this:
When you DONT have something you are more likely to yearn for it than if you do. If your woman is skinny, that buxom, olive-skinned brunette or voluptuous white-skinned woman might be appealing, as hips and chest are of a "baser" nature in attraction.
But if you already got that kind of woman, than the little skinny girl is not as much of a "base" attraction and thus they are less powerful pulls.
That said, I think this study is garbage, because it depends on the height of the woman and her proportion. A woman can be plump and not look nasty, just as there are thin women who have very womanly curves. It all depends.
I'm light enough!!!!!
"Men with skinny wives/girlfriends are more likely to stray, mine won't"
Yeah, she's pretty hot, but that movie she was in recently (Lost in Translation) was just strange.
Not only are there differences in clothing sizes in different countries.....there are differences in sizing right here.
I have outfits that fit perfectly and are size 8..........but I also have ones that fit the exact same way but are size 12.
You know this study doesn't mention if the shoe was on the other foot :0)
j/k
