Anybody want to have Congress ban POP-UP ads from the internet?
Please email your representative and let them know how you feel.
I am sick of clicking off all these danm things.
Lets have Congress ban stupid posts. And lets have Congress move stupid posts to chat. Perhaps Congress ought to just delete stupid posts.
Read the Constitution. It pretty clearly lays out the proper role of government. I didn't notice anything about pop up ads.
Why not trust the market? In addition to pop-up stopping software, I'm sure that, given the demand, various internet service providers will start offering pop-up free service.

Best post of the night. Maybe best of the week. Thanks for the laugh.
Too bad this thread is in chat now, where no one will see it.
So lets enact more laws, to increase the cost of running the government, so we can pay more!
No. I want to keep governments hands off the internet entirely.
Get them to do this, and next thing you know they'll be taxing and regulating everything.
What we need to stop is pop-up Congressmen.
LOL
Mine has been hiding (or running away) for 3 years now, I think he understands the less he says or does the better his chances of re-election are.
Is the Pope patriotic enough?
The Pope (when he speaks) is the Pope.
Government shouldnt be in the business of banning advertising on the net. But they should be i the business of blocking spyware and other nefarious programs that do invade privacy.
Sorry guys and gals, junk mail is not the same as pop-up internet ads since junk mail does not replicate within minutes/seconds of being thrown away.
Once again, I am not against free market advertising or capitalism. Just against intrusion - and no, I am not going to turn my computer off; that should not have to be an option.
How many of you have signed up for the "no call" telemarketing system set up by the government? Hmmmmmmm.
Thanks to those who offered alternatives such as Mozilla and Google. I tried Google but it only blocked 22 out of about 400.
