My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

May our friendship last forever;
May I sail upon your sea.
May we go through life together;
May there always be a "we."
May I be your endless sky;
May you breathe my gentle air.
May you never wonder why
Each time you look for me, I'm there.
May we be for each a smile
Like the warm, life-giving sun;
Yet when we're in pain awhile,
May our suffering be one.
May we share our special days,
The happiness of one for two;
And if we must go separate ways,
Let my love remain with you.

There For You
Beneath the hanging branch she lives,
Her roots almost too thin to hold her there.
Her stem is soft yet produces her might.
Her head is stern yet light.
Even if one swift wind were to come along,
She would still stay strong.
Standing tall and proud,
Watching the storm clouds roll loud,
And listening to the voices gossip,
"It'll be a record storm"
The storm came and rain trampled her down,
It was the worst on this side of town.
Gasping for life,
She droops to the ground.
Will the sun ever come out to help her around?
In her world her life is ending.
The sun's not out to help her mending.
"Don't give up!" a voice around her called.
She opened her petals and lifted her head.
A girl stood above her and looked down.
Upon her face showed no grin nor frown;
It shows a smile and helping heart.
"Don't you see a ray of light will shine?
Don't give up, everything will be just fine.
All you need is I, your friend.
I'll help you in healing, help you mend.
Don't give up, you can pull through.
All you need is a little help from a friend,
The rest is up to you."

I had inspiration yesterday!
Unfortunately, it was while driving and I couldn't write it down, nor was there anywhere to pull over so that I could write it down.

This is lovely feather. I've never heard of this poet but this is a beautiful piece. Thanks. You picked a great song to go with it, too!

A World of Eagles
In perfect worlds, there are some rules: You do not step on flowers.
And insects do not bite you, and rainbows stay for hours.
Every tree bears fruit that can never, ever spoil,
So anyone can live a life without a bit of toil.
They are all musing poets, and singing bards of mirth,
And all these perfect worlds of course are never, ever Earth.
Why cant we work to make of this a better place to live?
Quite frankly, its because it would take more than we can give.
Would you surrender everything, to have a bit of peace?
We know it doesnt work that way. Well always need police.
This is a world of eagles, their prey the peaceful dove,
Whose serene flight of beauty gets a nightmare from above.
We know that to have peace we must always prepare for war,
For only equal foes respect the meaning of a door.
My door is always open makes your door a welcome mat.
And someone will come to take your treasure, and thats that.
We do not need the weapons that will make our fences strong,
But the watchfulness of angels who will punish doing wrong.
Wed have a safer world if we knew we must do right,
But what kind of people would there be who do it out of fright?
I want a world where one does right simply because it feels so good.
A world where evil withers from the light just as it should.
I do not think Ill find it in the paper as I read,
But it is in my dreams when my imaginations freed.

It will come back in another form Darksheare. Can you remember any of the lines at all?? Write the snippets down if you're able.
I know the frustration you are feeling, it happens to all of us.

Nice poetry Bob. On a grander scale you reminded me of this quote:
The justest dispositions possible in ourselves, will not secure us against it [war]. It would be necessary that all other nations were just also. Justice indeed, on our part, will save us from those wars which would have been produced by a contrary disposition. But how can we prevent those produced by the wrongs of other nations? By putting ourselves in a condition to punish them. Weakness provokes insult and injury, while a condition to punish often prevents them.

None at all.
Remember teh sentiment though.
Wanting 'her' to be able to live in 'my shadowy world'.
Her smile being my light, but I'm a wisp of shadow.
She'd wither in my world, and I'd evaporate in hers.
Etc etc etc.
