Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A sudden tree or standing stone
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I draw what I see, or as close as I can get to it, and sometimes what I see isn't what is there.LOL! I know exactly what you mean :)

If you speed the hobbit hole up and run all the threads backwards, it says: "I bow to Saruman, I bow to Saruman...

I love historical novels. In addition to Patrick O'Brian's novels, you'll also need to read Bernard Cornwell's "Richard Sharpe" series! If you get the chance, see if you can rent the DVD's of the series created for British TV. I've been getting them from Netflix, and they are good. I like the books better, but Sean Bean as Richard Sharpe is just SO EASY on the eyes!

Weird Al Yankovic has also pointed out that if you take a copy of Led Zeppelin's record Houses of the Holy and put a scoop of cottage cheese in the middle, it looks like a UFO. . .

Heck, sometimes I draw stuff that isn't really there because what I'm seeing is surreal and twisted.
*shudder*
Weird.

I've been trying to start a "Wear Your Gun To Work Day" but so far it has gotten little if any traction.

In the movie Rapid Fire, Brandon Lee (Bruce Lee's son) is sitting in art class drawing a model. The instructor walks up and sees that Brandon has drawn a picture of a dragon behind the model. "Just draw what you see," the art teacher reprimands him. Brandon shrugs: "That's what I see." :)

Hair: thank you for the welcome..."troublemaker" LOL
"HA, like I havent heard THAT before!" From that wormy little guy that betrayed Brendan to the Mummy. SamCree: I HATED her to begin with. The cow! The trollop! The heartless wench! SPOILER ---> Messing around with Jack and then hurting Stephen so badly! And then running off to be mistress after all that business about not wanting to be kept!! End spoiler.
But I like her now. She has redeemed herself...for the most part. I still wonder why Stephen continues to moon after her, but that's just him I guess. Another spoiler ---> the one I really want to kick in the teeth is Amanda Smith, but I dont know if you have gotten that far yet...or have you read through the series? I know Jack is rather a rake when it comes to women, but I can't help but like the guy. He genuinely likes women and life, especially if its at sea, I hate seeing any woman take advantage of him. Its like Villiers says "seducing him is like seducing a child." Amanda was tremendously ill-bred end spoiler

Good evening... another day, another Hobbit Hole thread....
I got way behind on the stats when I started working back in March, and was never able to get caught up. My last stats post was three Hobbit Holes ago.
Now that I'm "at liberty" again, I hope to resume the stat posts...
