Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. We may not ~always~ have a lot of activity, but when we do, it will be fun. I will put a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I will also develop a ping list for horse threads that are of interest. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
I am hoping this thread will be a fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
Hey, I know you're following this CBS thing. Did you catch 60 minutes just now? What a slime bucket:). That women was soooooo credible:) Her last comment summed it up. "This is all supposition" What an idiot.
Becky
It isn't on here for a couple more hours, but I am gonna watch it!
Oh, sorry, I keep forgetting the time difference.
Becky
They should simulcast stuff like the news.... waiting 3 hours to see something the east coast has already seen is so pre-internet.
Speaking of the time difference, have you heard if they are going to do anything about the media reporting on the election on the east coast before the polls close on the west?
I know that was a problem last time, and then they talked about trying to do something, but haven't heard anything since.
Becky
What idiots. Be glad that Harley didn't go to them. It might be a blessing in disguise. And now you have a horse that has a month's worth of jumping under his girth, so to speak, so you've made out in the deal even though it's was a heck of a lot of headache and hassle.
They can talk about trying not to report all they want, but I just don't think they can really achieve it. Really.... they could just close the polls earlier here. Most folk either vote on the way to work or during the day anyhow. I think it is a protocol issue more than a real one, that they could theoretically call the race before the polls close. I don't think people who would have voted don't go because they hear early tallies from the east.
Thanks:)
The trainer at the barn told me to have anyone call her at anytime for a recommendation for him about his jumping. She said she'd buy him if she had the money.
Becky
Well, he is still for sale, but I'm really not in a hurry to sale him. If I do fine, if I don't fine. But he is going into immediate barrel training:) Tomorrow evening, and I won't forget the camera.
Becky
Can't wait to see the pics. :-)
I still believe you have a right to those records though. If I took your child to the Dr. and paid for it, only you would have a right to those records. Anyway, your vet visit probably the best way. He can call the other vet and he will tell him stuff off the record he wouldn't tell you. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he wasn't asked all kinds of questions about signs and said "maybe"
I don't even know if I'm going to take him to my vet. I know there is nothing wrong with him. There not going to buy him so what's the point. I didn't want the horse to jump anyway. I'm just chalking it up to a good learning experience in selling horses.
Becky
So how was your day? did you ride?
I can't believe the one night I'm here noone else is:)
Becky
No, the kids staying home this trip. Just old stable horses. We are going to ride 2 1/2 hours Sat morning thru an old mine camp, stop and eat at someplace then 45 minutes back. Places you can only get to by horse or foot.
The only thing is , will you need a clearance for when you do sell him?
That should be fun:)
Becky
A clearance from who, for what???
Becky
Well, thanks, lol
I have been busy at work and in and out trying to get stuff together. I took a break at 7 to go to church and started back to work and decided to come home. I don't ride on Weds. The vet wanted Sarah Lee to have a few days off, anyway.
From your vet for Harley that his feet are fine.
