Help Americans serving abroad assist people in need.
100% of your tax-deductible donation goes to these requests made by Americans serving abroad.
Read the story that inspired Spirit of America.
With bats, balls and gloves donated by their families and friends in the United States, American troops brought baseball to the children of Orgun-e, Afghanistan. Nazim, one of the local players, said, I like to be a player, not a fighter. Seeing the difference this made for the local kids Sergeant Jay Smith said, Its made me feel the best I ever felt in my life. Smith also says that baseball and his units other humanitarian activities literally saved lives.
Read why.
U.S. Marines Seek to Help Iraqi Children
The 1st Marine Division seeks school supplies, frisbees and soccer balls for Iraqi Kids.
The Marines want to help children like these and improve relations with Iraqis in the 'Sunni Triangle.'
Your donation will have an immediate impact.
$325 provides a supply kit for a classroom and its students.
$100 buys 110 flying discs ("Frisbees").
Any amount helps! Your donation is tax deductible.

Name dropping is such fun...
I had lunch yesterday with a gal whose son is a non-touring golf pro at one of the swanky private clubs in Southern California. She asked if I had watched the tournament on Sunday and I was able to reply.."No, I missed it but I know Stewart's aunt and she filled me in on it."...

I just saw the neatest bumper sticker. It had W2004 and an
US Flag on it. I want one! I want one! Where can I get those? I checked the George Bush website, but it didn't have the one I wanted. Anyplace else?

I just got an autographed pic of Chief Justice William Rehnquist - a good friend met him last week and I had asked her to get his autograph for me and to pass along my support of his views. She did and I got the signed pic today! It's kinda funny that this week's Guild members have more celebrity info than the news does.

Bill hasn't had
his Jamaican vacation yet...
Did you see hillary during the Senate hearing this morning? Hooooo-boy, she had quite a bit of work done during her Jamaica vaca! Some sort of new heat treatment and dammit she looks better. Well as good as a horse's ass can look. HLL will post info on the procedure.
News on the radio down here, Larry Klayman is calling for Powell's resignation for giving away secrets to Woodward. LOL! Poor Larry, the little geek boy nobody pays attention to.

.."No, I missed it but I know Stewart's aunt and she filled me in on it."... Hehe! It is fun (thanks again T!), I've never been able to do it because I don't know anybody famous but now I understand why it was so much fun to give my husband a hard time with it.
I did know one famous person, my oldest sister dated Sam the Sham (I don't even know his last name) of Sam the Sham and the Pharos. He'd call the house for sis and we'd have some interesting conversations.
Hey there little Red Riding Hood, you sure are lookin' good.
You're everything a big bad wolfe could want.
Oowwwwwwwwwhhhhhooooooooo!

E-mail from friend:
WOULD IT NOT BE GREAT TO TURN ON THE OLE' TV TONIGHT AND SEE G. W. BUSH GIVE THE FOLLOWING SPEECH:
My fellow Americans:
As you all know, the defeat of Iraq's regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete.
This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days.
It is now time to begin the reckoning.
Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there.
The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.
Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.
The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world hellholes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.
Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.
In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home.
On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.
To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too.
I'm ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.
I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. Pay your tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers, and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.
A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are going to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I'm gonna put 'em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil. Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty -- starting now.
It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism.
I answer them by saying 'darn tootin.' Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet.
It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup soccer from America.
To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you. To the nations on List 2, a final thought. Drop dead.
God bless America.
Thank you and good night.

DIL was taken off the Total Bedrest order yesterday,,, Glad to hear that, she probably would like to finish up with the 'nesting'.
I hope she can keep her legs crossed until I get there.
Luckily the full moon was back on the fifth so that's one less thing to bring baby too soon. Don't let her eat any Kraft Macaroni and Cheese mixed with A-1 Sauce, that's a sure fire bring the baby on recipe.

Hello everyone, we're back from Boston and I've been trying to catch up on my Guild reading. First of all, J, I want you to know we were screaming for Stewart up in Beantown. What a great tournament that was! Woo hoo!
It was a nice weekend; wonderful weather (except for the runners). Mr. M was not sorry he didn't run this year (an Achilles injury prevented him from training for this year's marathon, but he's already qualified for next year), in light of the temperatures in the mid-80s. Runners were dropping like flies. We rode the T out to Boston College and watched the runners on Commonwealth Ave. at about the 21-mile mark. It was great fun, and - of course - we enjoyed some great Italian meals in the North End. It's nice to be home, though, and back visiting with you folks.
To: They'reGone2000
OMG, he really is morphing into Ted Kennedy!
This one is a keeper!!
Does that look like a new wedding band, I seem to remember it being thinner.
If we want an answer to whether hillary will run, watch for signs of bill and hill pretending to be a loving couple. If they start that we're double dog doomed, the droning from Kerry and hillary will send me to the loony bin.

Yea, you're back!
I vaguely remembered Mr. M might have had a problem that kept him from running but wasn't sure. Glad he wasn't one of the flies! We'll cheer him on next year.
Timeout, MaeWest and I had much fun watching Stewart and commenting, read the last page of the last Guild thread and see how little I know about golf, also see me wish for your golf expertise. :-)
