~The Dragon Flies' Lair Thread XI~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guides
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

She held the moon glow of a perfect pearl
made from sand and mucus
a product of irritation
and self defense
She held her glow
in moonlight
age added to her luster
at the core she was soft
needing the oil of love
ensuring her antiquity
holding her own through generations

They're fun to watch and listen too. If you're patient enough they can learn to eat from your hand.

Hi, all I'm home. I was so tired when I got home I laid down on the couch and conked out for hours.

Long meeting.

Poets aren't allowed to "conk out".

P.S. Any meeting, no matter how short, is too long.

A fine and happy good morning to all :)

Gifts
Sarah Teasdale

I gave my first love laughter,
I gave my second tears,
I gave my third love silence
Through all the years.

My first love gave me singing,
My second eyes to see,
But oh, it was my third love
Who gave my soul to me.

simply song but so true.

Teasdale is wonderful. I think you'll like some of my other morning posts, then. :)

Ohio

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin,'
We're finally on our own,
This summer I hear the drummin'
Four dead in Ohio

Got to get down to it.
Soldiers are gunnin' us down.
Should have been gone long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

La, la, la, la

Got to get down to it.
Soldiers are gunnin' us down.
Should have been gone long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground?
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon's comin'
We're finally on our own
This summer I hear the drummin'
Four dead in Ohio, four dead in Ohio,
Four dead in Ohio, four dead in Ohio,
Four dead in Ohio, four dead in Ohio,
Four dead in Ohio, four dead in Ohio,

Sam, the strangest thing today- I was reading yesterday's paper this morning and Kent State, Ohio was mentioned in a letter to the Editor.

Those years were so turbulent ripping our nation in half. I don't think I totally understand what went on there, Ohio.

County music today!! Always works for me. Merle and Conway.

Thanks for coffee, donuts, tunes and poetry.

How are you today, Sam?? It's overcast and rainy here today, still on the cool side.

My brother goes to hospital tomorrow for some tests, Dr's. say he has a clogged valve. My youngest brother.
Kinda worried about him.

I'm not sure I understand what went on in Ohio, and I was born in Ohio.
(But, admittedly, 1970 was alittle before my time..)

Wasn't that song one of the propagandistic songs used by the left afterwards?
