Oh that's normal for up here ..
Once my sister had a 2nd line put in because she was tying up the main phone all the time and mom was getting tic off at her
Well she went through basically what you describe .. when the dude finally came out it took him about 5 hours to put the phone line in .. only to disconnect the main phone line
Getting that hooked back up is a whole other story

Hi Westy, I just finished packing up the PU for a weekend camping at a lake near us.
Hubby and I got into an argument really early, in our own driveway. LOL He was cranking the PU up with the stablizers in place. I said it would bend the frame. He told me....well, never mind what he told me. But the neighbors know. LOL

I was talking to Mike's aunt tonight .. she is democrat and normally votes dem
I was joking with her tonight that I wanted all 50 states .. that Reagan got 49 .. I wanted 50 this time
She said that she didn't know if Massachusetts (where she lives) would go to President Bush ... but he was getting her vote

Westy, you know that the best entertainment at a campground is watching a couple set up their camper and site. The rangers are pretty lenient of profanity at that time because after all is done....everyone is relaxed and calling each other sweetie. LOL
