Kinda been shivering in 'a corner' for a bit wondering the same thing.
Got bored and wandered the other trheads.
How are things out your way?

Hot! It is 92 and muggy. I just may have to break down and turn on the central air. I'm hoping that rainstorms rolling in this evening will cool us down, though.

We had rainstorms yesterday, and it got hotter afterwards.
It wasn't quite so bad before it rained, but afterwards it was miserable.

And we don't have AC.
Of course, AC makes me sick for some reason.

We have central air, but I am loathe to close my house and turn it on. I have enough of that in the winter. Sometimes, in the dog days of summer, my daughter strips the grandchildren down to their diaper or undies when she brings them over. They never complain, but she does. LOL

Speaking of diapers, the two year old is not potty trained, and we really don't expect him to be until later, even though he is being put on the potty sometimes. But, lately, he has taken to bringing a clean diaper, Desitin, wipies and the changing mat to us when he wants to be changed, without being asked to do so. I told my daughter to make him change himself and maybe he would really GO in the potty. LOL

Sounds like my one nephew.
He's a card.
A kid that the missus babysits just recently figure out how to use the potty.
She says he's acted 'braggy' about it.

Oh, there is nothing like having to drop everything and run into the bathroom to see the pee pee and pooh pooh when they finally start using the potty. But, you are scared not to do so because they may regress. LOL

OMG...I just started laughing so hard. You are such a nice man to be discussing toddler potty training with me on a boring afternoon.

Ya shoulda seen my kid when he first sat on the potty.

He farted. Loudly. The first unmuffled fart he ever heard.

Eyes got HUGE!

He jumped up and looked in the pot to see what made all that noise!

LOL!
Yes, they seem so proud as if they have climbed Everest.
(And if you DONT praise them, they get SO bent out of shape about it don't they?)
My niece has discovered her diaper.
She's four months old or so, and is a well behaved baby.
However, she growls at my brother and gives some pretty wicked stares.
Then she smiles, laughs, and then giggles.
I warned my brother about teh parental curse.
Since it worked with his boys...
...a daughter 'just like him' will be SO much worse!

He is NOT amused by that prospect.

Welcome, had to discuss potty training with my sis in law, and various people over the years.
Had to assist in it as well.
*ugh!*

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- State Education Secretary Richard Riordan jokingly told a child her name, Isis, meant "stupid dirty girl," prompting the head of the California NAACP on Thursday to call for his resignation.

I guess if Bill Crosby said it we think we would know he was teasing and trying to be playful!

They really should go over those tapes of Crosby talks with kids!

I dread to think what my first electric bill will be for this place. It has been really hot and the AC has been running almost constantly. Even when it hasn't been too hot outside, it has felt hot inside because I've been working. This place is bigger than the old one. Plus, everything else in the house is electric too.

Maggie Roberts holds Nemo after being rescued from Homosassa Bay, three miles east of Tampa, on Saturday, July 3, 2004. Roberts was out with her husband when they spotted nine-inch Nemo paddling furiously and screaming at the top of his lungs. Nemo was adopted by Rogers' sister-in-law. Tyler was so slow to get around to staying dry. He was hard to potty train. He just wasn't interested. Then, just before he turned 3, I took him on a cross country road trip. All of a sudden he decides he wants to go potty, in every town...from Colorado to Louisville to Eureka Springs and back to Colorado. And then he discovered getting to pee on the grass. You'd have thought he'd discovered dirt or something. After that, it was hard to get him to go INSIDE. Needless to say, we didn't make very good time on the drive. Check out the picture on the bottom right....(of course I had to take pictures).
