Tremor shakes Israeli buildings

A TREMOR measuring up to 5.0 points on the Richter scale shook homes and offices in Israel and Amman today, seismologists said.
The tremor shook buildings in Jerusalem and in the Jordan Valley at around 5.45pm (12.45am AEST), according to Israel's Lod-based national seismology institute.
The affected area lies on the Syria-Africa fault line, one of the most sensitive seismology zones in the world.
A seismologist told Jordanian state television that the tremor in Amman registered around 4.0 points on the Richter scale.
There was no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
A quake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale shook Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian territories on February 11, creating panic in Amman and disrupting telephone lines across the city.

(IsraelNN.com) According to a report an Arabic news report, the roof of the Dome of the Rock Mosque on the Temple Mount was cracked in the recent earthquake that hit Israel. According to an Israel Radio report, renovations will be funded by the United Arab Emirates.
In another Temple Mount matter, Jerusalem officials are asking Israel Police for a permit to visit the Mount in order to obtain a first-hand look at damage from the recent snowstorm.
