We have done the tile work too and it is harder than you think...hard on the knees, hard on the hands but when it is done what pride! We put down our parquet and tile work too and now we just finished painting the master bedroom and bathroom...got to clean up now and this week the guy comes to measure for the wall to wall carpet..yep we are treating ourselves to something we don't have to do for once...

Okay but we'll have to raise your taxes in order to fund the bureau that will have to publish regulations for the sale, distribution and use of fireworks. In time it will grow to include a Division of Rockets, a Sparkler Branch and a Center for Firecracker Standards. I see government growth potential here ...

Nully's gonna have to work really, really hard for us.Yes he is. Just in case the strain proves to be too much, I suggest we choose several youthful earners as associate "trust fund" donors to keep our Social Security checks rolling in. Perhaps sweet liberty and Mo's hubby will volunteer.

Sounds wonderful! I've got to get busy and paint the master bathroom before hubby puts the baseboard (border?) bull-nosed tiles along the base of the wall. I'm also going to strip and refinish the vanity.
We treated ourselves to a new mattress and box spring set on Sunday. The set we have now, I bought before we were married, and it's going on 12 years old. Ugh. We also upgraded from queen to California King. Next, I'm getting shutters for the master bedroom, and tearing down the hideous old curtains and mini blinds.
Yesterday I planted begonias and impatiens in the front yard. Always so much to do!

The occasional injury--tragic though it may be--should not be justification for a super nanny state that denies all of us the opportunity to decide for ourselves whether to accept the risks associated with fireworks in exchange for the enjoyment of using them in celebration.Oh, I agree. When I moved here, I was stunned when I found out that all fireworks were banned. They also use the excuse of "fire hazard", since there are a lot of dry hills around. This time of year, all of the annual grasses have dried completely to form the "golden hills" of California. But the nanny state just can't leave us alone.

Blame the Padres.
The native grasses are green all year round. The Fathers brought European grass seed, the "better" to feed their horses.
The European grasses grow faster in the spring and crowded out the native species, then unlike the natives they die off in the summer.
Who knew?
