Yes, they were the greatest generation, until they joined AARP.

...or until AARP morphed into what it is today...kinda like our fedgov, the NEA, the NRA (I'll stop here): the $$$ and the power have corrupted completely.

Cheers, CB.

The elderly American gentleman arrived in Paris by plane and at French Customs, he fumbled for his passport.

The snooty French customs agent asked sarcastically, "You 'ave been to France before, monsieur?"

The kindly old gent admitted that he had been to France previously.

"Zen, you should know enough to 'ave your passport ready for zee inspection," said the Frenchman, even more sarcastically.

The elderly American, ignoring the snooty attitude of the French customs agent, quietly replied, "Well, the last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."

"Impossible!" exclaimed the Frenchman. "You Americans alwayz 'ave to show your passports on arrival in France!"

The American senior raised his head gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained.

"Well y'see son, the last time that I visited France, was on June 6th, back in '44 and my port of entry was a place called Omaha Beach. But, it was the strangest thing. When I came ashore, I couldn't find no stinkin' Frenchmen to show my passport to."

WOW!!! . . . Valerie, that is a beautful photo . . . can you tell me if the flowers were hybrid garden varieties, or were they out in the fields with the wildflowers.

"How aghast would the environmentalist be to know that we do that in Missouri?"

About as much as they would be to know that we not only burn trash here, but also excess vegetation (including trees).

Hmmmm... I don't know why that picture isn't showing now. Those flowers were not wild, they were growing in the landscaping at a local doctor's office.

"I haven't done it, though, because I'm not sure I have a strong enough stomach to handle all the pro-Kerry anti-Bush mail I'd probably be getting."

It doesn't take much to get nauseous over these morons. This afternoon when I was driving to the store I had on KARN talk radio in Little Rock. The afternoon host reads this email he got from a disgruntled liberal (I don't think they come any other way) accusing the station of pumping people full of right-wing Republican propaganda and said they should be more fair and balanced (now where have I heard THAT term before?). So anyway, the host decides to be a liberal for a day and take phone calls on the issues. The first one was funny. After that, it just got sickening. It's easy to see why liberal talk radio doesn't work. They're all idiots who like to hear the sound of their own screeching, but they're sadly lacking when it comes to listening to anybody else.

Three New Hampshire surgeons were having lunch together and discussing surgeries they had performed. One of them said, "I'm the best surgeon around. A concert pianist lost 7 fingers in an accident. I reattached them, and 8 months later, he performed a private concert for the Queen of England."

The second surgeon said, "That's nothing. A young man lost both arms and legs in a terrible accident. I reattached them, and 2 years later, he won 2 gold medals in field events in the Olympics."

The third surgeon said, "You guys are amateurs. Several years ago a guy who was high on cocaine and alcohol rode a horse head-on into a train traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the horse's ass and a neck tie.

He's now trying to get the Democratic nomination for President of the United States!"
