Whats the matter with me? Has anything changed?
Posted on 04/15/2004 6:55:11 PM PDT by ConservativeMan55
A little over a year ago I posted a shameless vanity trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Little has changed in a year.
I do things to try and keep my mind off of not having a girlfriend. Such as posting shameless vanities like this one. Its not easy being a 22 year old Conservative that likes to read, watch the news, etc.
So I'm sitting here alone. Typing a shameless vanity. Trying to pass the time until tommorow. Tommorow I'll be 22.
Everytime I talk to a girl she is either taken, or not interested.

Stop worrying about it. In two years, you'll look back on this and laugh.
And there is NOTHING wrong with you!

Dude, with tommorrow being your 22th birthday, what are you doing on the internet? And happy birthday, but you're going to have to work on it.:)

It is no consolation to hear that the right lady will arrive in due time. But she will.
I am flagging Sinkspur to this (he might be a bit surprised!) because I remember a post of his where he said that his partner entered his life at a time when he certainly wasn't looking for her. (He thought he was going to be a priest.)
A practical suggestion. Have you thought of - socialising more with families. Very often, people link up with a friend or relative met through a family group.
If you know people who are nice and of good judgement, ask them to introduce you to unattached young ladies. Not to be partnered up - but just to meet them. You might click with one of these, or with a friend whom you meet through her.

Go to your nearest food store and wander up & down the aisles.
When you see something that you like, just start talking to her.
It works.
That's why I was a batchelor til I was 34!

22? You're still very young, you know!
I'm old enough to be your mother - barely! - and I'm going to tell you that I've never known anyone in my life who didn't find love. They may have messed it up after they found it, but I trust that you won't lose it after you find it.
It will come, and knock you for a loop, when you least expect it.

think of it this way, you have not yet met your future ex-wife :) but when you do meet her, just hope she looks like Rebecca Gomez.
