The Guild 4-15-2004 Medication or bad taste, the verdict...
Posted on 04/15/2004 4:47:31 AM PDT by BigWaveBetty
And the verdict is ... Bad taste, a whole mouth full.
Here we see Teresa and her lovey in one of their wedding photos that reveal one ugly wedding dress. If your choice in wedding attire is this awful then we must chalk it up to plain old bad taste. The medication must of come after realizing she married a complete bore.
Kerry and Teresa Heinz married on Nantucket on May 26, 1995.

AP Strange News | 16 Apr 2004 | Associated Press
"OLYMPIA, Wash. - A bank robber wearing a wetsuit under his clothes tried to make a scuba-diving getaway but was tackled by police before he reached the water, authorities say.
Police subdued the man Thursday on the shore of Budd Inlet after a car chase, a crash and a sweaty quarter-mile dash through the woods, during which he tried to sprint into the water while lugging his diving gear and a backpack filled with the stolen cash, Sgt. Ray Holmes said.
Charles E. Coma, 35, was jailed on suspicion of robbery."
Just genius.

There's some sort of break in the Dru Sjodin case.
Wierdly, the sheriff made a short statement, in tears: "Dru is home". That's all.

Uh-oh. Kerry's stepped in it again.
The Washington Times reports today that Kerry opposes reparations for slavery. But one line in the article stuck out to me:
He also talked about his travels to the South in the 1960s as a student participating in the Mississippi voter-registration drive.
But I had recently read that Kerry HAD NOT travelled to Mississippi. So I started looking and found where Kerry had met with black journalists earlier this month...
Richard Prince, April 7, 2004:After giving it some thought, Kerry said that if he had it to do all over again, he probably would have "found a way" to get to Mississippi during the 1964 Freedom Summer, while he was at Yale. "I think I missed something," he said, though he said he went to Georgia and South Carolina while on spring break, the first time he'd seen "whites only" signs.
AND the Boston Globe did a long profile on Kerry last June. It said:...Kerry puffed up his Democratic credentials [I love this part!]-- his campaign work for John F. Kennedy in high school, and the extent of his involvement as a Yale student in the Freedom Summer of 1964, when white volunteers headed to the South to help blacks push for voting rights. A campaign flier, titled "A Message from John Kerry," began: "Ever since I worked as a young volunteer in John Kennedy's presidential campaign, I have been deeply committed to participation in politics and political issues . . . Back then, I joined the struggle for voting rights in the South."
But Kerry's involvement with the JFK campaign of 1960 was minimal. Today, he acknowledges he may only have participated in a single literature drop in Concord, N.H., while boarding at St. Paul's School.
Moreover, his role in the struggle to register black voters in Mississippi was confined to the Yale campus in New Haven, Conn. Kerry's accounts over the years of his involvement have sometimes left the impression -- and resulted in press reports -- that the young Yalie was actually down South, with the freedom riders. He wasn't.
"I remember we saw the buses off and helped raise money for the buses and were supportive of it, but I did not personally go down there on a freedom ride," Kerry said. Not long thereafter, he did visit the South, he said, "to see what was going on, which was an eye-opener for me. I had never seen a sign that said, `No colored, whites only.'"
I sent an email to the Washington Times telling them they either need to run a correction or report Kerry's puffing up his bona-fides again. What an idiot.

Hi, HLL, you probably already have this on your PDA but tomorrow's TSV on the Q is Philosophy. Rumor control has it to contain moisturizer, cleanser, hand cream and a couple of other items (The Great One?). Obviously, no one has told Tay-raisa-your-taxes about the line.

Kerry's accounts over the years of his involvement have sometimes left the impression -- Also known as the Kerry paradigm.
Excellent detective work on your part. Skeptical that reporters would let this go unnoticed I searched for a transcript because Kerry (or staff) certainly can't be stupid enough to repeat such puffery after he's already admitted that his participation in the 1964 Freedom Summer was minimal at best. I was wrong, didn't find anything of substance but for this one little paragraph in the NYT. However, it was quite a paragraph.
At Howard, Mr. Kerry received tepid applause, particularly on questions about race. The topics included reparations for slavery (Mr. Kerry is opposed, but said so only after meandering paragraphs about lynching, Jim Crow, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and affirmative action), Haiti ("to some degree Aristide became what he preached against") and how he would appeal to African-American voters (he said he thought blacks cared about the same issues as everyone else).
Doesn't that just scream *the democrat for president goes to (the?) biggest black college campus and exposes himself as worthless on black issues*?
Perhaps any cranky press were soothed the next day at the University of Pittsburgh rally:
In an airy, window-walled lounge in the student lounge surrounded by blooming magnolias, long tables were set with pre-printed placards marking spots for each news organization. There was a large-screen video and sound feed, buffeted by the view of the crowd through the windows. And behind the workspace was a luncheon spread worthy of a black-tie wedding reception.
Bunches of wild greens in leek wrappers could be dressed in your choice of sweet carrot & pumpkin seed vinaigrette or bleu cheese honey mustard. Main course options were Porcini-encrusted veal loin on the bone, with Cognac-shallot cream, or sun-dried tomato stuffed chicken breast. On the side were risotto cakes, broccolini with Jardieniere vegetables, and Ratatouille-stuffed Roma tomatoes.
Followed, of course, by Chianti-poached pear with Lavender Marscapone. naturellement
