Sorry daisyscarlett and Timeout, the last part of that post was an answer to daisyscarlett.

Well we do know the important things likes, her favorite food is a supersized extra-value meal from McDonald's. She has bachelor's and master's degrees in psychology and counseling and once wrestled a greased pig in a mud pit.
But out of 12 stories I perused not one bit on how Shandi plans to defend U.S. involvement in Iraq.
Is it OK to call protests against Miss USA un-American?

(LIZSMITH):
DENNIS HOPPER is the "Easy Rider" star-director who grew up surrounded by Democrats. In the '60 he marched with Martin Luther King and protested the Vietnam War.
But did you know that he is now a political conservative and has been since Ronald Reagan? He says, "I liked [Bill] Clinton, but I voted for Bush Sr. And I'm definitely voting for [George W.] Bush again."
Mr. Hopper's wife Victoria is a passionate Democrat who has raised money for John Edwards and John Kerry. Of her Democratic passions, Hopper says to the London Times: "I support Bush and I support my wife and what my wife's involved in. That's all. We don't talk politics. I respect her things, and you know, whether she respects mine doesn't really matter to me."

XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX TUE APRIL 13, 2004 12:12:05 ET XXXXX
CAMPAIGN RAGE: FLORIDA DEMOCRATS PLACE NEWSPAPER AD CALLING FOR RUMSFELD HIT; FUNDRAISING FOR KERRY
Campaign 2004 turns extreme in Florida with the placement of a newspaper ad calling for physical retribution against Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld!
"We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger," the ad reads.
MORE
The call-to-arms fundraising ad, placed by the St. Petersburg Democratic Club in the current issue of the GABBER, a local St. Petersburg paper, asks readers to make an urgent donation to the John Kerry campaign.
Club Vice President Edna McCall told the DRUDGE REPORT Tuesday morning: "We want to get our country back. In Iraq, we're in deep trouble. If we don't try to get this situation cleared up, we are finished."
When asked if the ad was a challenge to inflict violence on Rumsfeld, McCall explained: "'Pull the trigger' means let Rumsfeld know where we stand, not to shoot him!"
"We are getting raped, and they are planning to steal the election again."
McCall said her club is in direct contact with John Kerry campaign.
"We're all working together."
The publisher of the GABBER says running the ad with the passage "pull the trigger" was a mistake that "slipped through" during the editing of this week's edition.

Edna's a liar and an idiot, and the newspaper cannot just say the ad "slipped through." This is reprehensible.
To: mountaineer
I am pretty sure that there are cuffs on Edna right about now.

re: two daughters - I heard coming back from lunch that now they will not be forced to go back to Iraq. What's that all about? If they were men, they'd be expected to go back. What's fair for men should be fair for women. After all, women want equity in the military, then be woman enough to take the responsibility that comes with it. You sign up, you belong to Uncle Sam, not Aunt Jane.

I think there's a military rule that if your sibling has been killed, you can request not to be posted to a combat area, and it looks like these girls have taken advantage of that provision. What bugged me was that the parents were doing all the whining and complaining, instead of treating their daughters like the adults they are, and letting them make the decision.

Watching "Hardball" and once again Chris is making me puke with his partisan take on today's hearings.
I think I've figured out what's up with him. His ratings are abysmal, always have been. I think someone at MSNBC pointed out to him how Geraldo's MSNBC ratings soared when he became Clinton's biggest defender during Monicagate. Is Chris shooting for the same spike? It's a shame because he used to be really balanced.

President Bush hit 5 grand slams tonight. He was dynamic, clear, purposeful, strong, and beautifully explained why we're in Iraq. Absolutely awesome!!! I'm so proud of his tough stance and clear thinking.
WAY TO GO, MR. PRESIDENT!

I missed the Press Conference. I was able to read some of the live thread, but it moved quickly, and I kept getting interupted,,, so I got way behind.
I'm giving up on that thread, and will have to depend on O'Really and Blabbity to fill in the blanks.
Working late again tonite.

Keep up the good work.
Bush was Bush. He was masterful, charming, forceful, honest and spoke from the heart. If people bothered to listen to him they would have heard the reasons why we are in Iraq and that Iraq must be free so that we can be protected.
I was very happy with the press conference.
This was such a refreshing break, since today when I was getting petition signatures a lady came out of her house to chase me off the porch and scream at me about Bush. It wasn't pretty.

You know, I'm finding each day people either like Bush, or they hate him with deep contempt. There doesn't seem to be an in-between.

I've noticed that, too. People either love him or hate him. There's no neutral ground.

Think about this over your first cup of joe:
How long before X42 finds a venue to publicly apologize to the 9/11 widows? Of course, he won't accept any personal responsibility....he'll find a more elegant way to pull a Clarke: Your government failed you.
Mark my words. He won't be able to resist.

An X42 apology, what could be more vile? And you're right, he won't be able to resist.
President Bush was superb, when he speaks from his heart like he did last night, he shows his strength and commitment to our country. And apparently this show of strength really makes the libs cranky. The liberals in town harbored at the now defunct Stern station are throwing out all the old "Bush is a dummy" and "where are those weapons", plus "why don't we go save all the oppressed people of the world?"
As I watched President Bush last night one thought kept running through my head; Kerry will be dead meat when he and President Bush debate.

I think someone at MSNBC pointed out to him how Geraldo's MSNBC ratings soared when he became Clinton's biggest defender Two words: Rick Kaplan, new prez of MSNBC.
To: BigWaveBetty
Speaking of Kerry, did you read his op-ed in the WaPo yesterday? At one point he discussed political transition in Iraq and---his mantra---"internationalizing" the process. This line will be featured in future GOP ads:
"The United States can bolster Brahmini's[the U.N.'s] limited leverage by saying in advance that we will support any plan he proposes that gains the support of Iraqi leaders."
ANY PLAN. It boggles the mind to think of a president (or president wannabe) totally shirking a problem by surrendering IN ADVANCE to the U.N.
