Prayer Requests from FReeper Giznort

I appreciate your continuing prayers and am sorry that I have to ask you for your help. I don't mean to be a whiner/complainer, but apparently, the chemo that had caused the tenderness in the palms of my hands has now gone to the soles of my feet. This manifested itself earlier this week but has now grown to be nasty. I know that it is directly from the chemo, but today it really started hurting. I know that as I go through chemo, and whatever else they figure I need, it's not going to be uneventful.
The soles of my feet are very painful, and have gotten progressively worse since Wednesday. As bad as they feel, I think I should see blood soaked socks!!! This is nasty!! I've been doing Easter dinner preps for Sunday and dont want to wuss out in front of the relatives. I pray that the dear Lord helps me find some relief. I had the sore palms from the first round of chemo, and I found ways around that. It's harder to get around without using your feet.
I'm sorry to complain but I want to celebrate Easter at my house without my husband's family feeling sorry for me, etc. Thanks.
Also, please keep the following in prayer please
I would appreciate your prayers for my dear niece and her very beloved dog, a chocolate lab, Reggie, who is a dear, sweet, well-behaved 8-year old, who has just been diagnosed with cancer. At this point, it is believed that the surgery would require the splitting of Reggie's pelvis to obtain access to and the removal of the tumor, and that dogs usually recover from the surgery remarkably well. Please join us in our prayers for Erin, to calm her fears, to guide those who perform the treatment on Reggie, and for Reggie himself, to become cancer-free and to enjoy life with his family! In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

May God hold you close to Him now and give you peace and strength. May He help the veterinarian who will care for Reggie as well, and help Reggie to health so he can be with his family, in Jesus' name.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You are the Creator of all things, and that all things are given for our good pleasure. Thank You for the love and companionship of Erin's dog, Reggie. See him through this upcoming operation, and may it be more than the success that is anticipated. Thank You that everything can be lifted to You in prayer, Creator God, and it is Your admonition that we do so ...
May this Blessed day have been a joy for Rachel and her family. Ease the pain in her feet that she would be able to return to work in comfort ... thank You for her praising heart in the midst of her distress. Pour out Your strength upon her, Merciful Father, and lead her into a complete return to health. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...

I'm so sorry to report that Reggie's diagnosis is the worst. Erin & Bryan took him to a specialist (vet) in Chicago yesterday, had to leave him there overnight, and drive back today. (90 miles each way) Today they learned that the tumor was malignant and to the degree that it was basically inoperable (entwined in the spinal column...) and they are bringing him home tonight for euthanasia. Thank you for all your prayers; this is my niece's first loss and she does not have a Christian upbringing (my sister's choice) and I fear for her and hope to reach out to her. I pray for God's help/guiding in this. I need it because I am in no way a professional at this. Thank you.

Sorry to be a couple of days late in sending up prayers for all of you.
Did you get through Easter o.k.? And while I'm on the subject, I think it's kind of tacky for in-laws to expect you to prepare a holiday feast.
I can relate to how you feel - over the last few months, my fingers have become super-sensitive.

It's okay with the timing thing....I've been busy busy last few days. Easter was fine....as a matter of fact, both sets of sister-in-laws (and their husbands!) separately said that they would assume the Easter dinner hosting if I wasn't quite up to it. The soles of my feet are almost normal again, but the tenderness has come back to my hands. All things considered, I prefer the hand soreness to the foot soreness. It was so hard to walk Saturday!!!! Much, much better now.
Both sister-in-laws brought nice "hostess gift baskets" (maybe that's why I held out and hosted the dinner.....) one with hand lotions, bath/shower gels, etc....the other with shampoo/conditioner sets.....yumm..
Are you undergoing chemo that makes your hands sensitive, or is it something else?

I'm glad to know the family offered to help, plus gave you...

Yes, I did take a low-dosage chemo for about 9 months, but not because I have cancer. To my knowledge, and I checked it out on Google, sensitive skin, fingers, etc., was not one of the side effects.
Good thing I usually keep my posts brief and to the point, for it's becoming difficult to type.

Please use your ping lists for prayer for FReeper giznort (Rachel). Tomorrow she undergoes her third chemo treatment for a cancer so rare, there is no referenced treatment. Before chemo, she has a checkup, and she's most concerned because of a new sensitivity in the operated area. Please pray that the cancer has not returned but that the sensation is of no consequence. Praise God that the swelling in her leg has diminished, as well as the painful sensitivity in her feet. Her hands continue to be sensitive, but she's able to compensate ... praise God.
Heavenly Father, we uplift our friend, Rachel, before You and ask that Your healing hand would rest mightily upon her. Breathe Your very love and assurance into her being that she might know that You are with her. We ask for a good report and an uneventful chemotherapy session ... touch her, Gracious Father, and restore her to complete health, in the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen ...
