Most folks forget, or are just too lazy to use that last comma, the one before the "and", but you did it correctly.

Pay no heed to all these old duffers here on FR. Some live in the Old Fools Home, some take strong meds, and a few of us are crackpots.

Actually, it is optional

Speaking of professional sports, have you ever wondered why it is necessary to have sports announcers at the actual games? Think about it. Isn't this an unnecessary expense?
If I were in charge of a cable and/or broadcasting network that had a contract to televise sporting events, here is what I'd do.
I'd send a crew to the ballpark to rig up cameras and then keep one onsite in case things go wrong. Then during the actual event, I would have my announcers sit at the studio and call the game from there. With the excellent quality of audio/video these days, there is simply no need for an announcer to actually be at the game. This would make it possible for the same announcers to call "doubleheaders." For example, the announcing crew calling a 1PM NFL football game can then call the 4PM football game without missing a beat.
Think of all the expenses that would be reduced for the network. No travel. No hotel. No restaurant or catering expenses. No per diem allowances. Not to mention the money saved by not having to rent booth space at the stadium/arena.
Doing it my way, we would significantly improve the bottom line at the network. Any networks out there that want to hire me to run their sportscasting operations, please freepmail me. My salary demands are reasonable and I will not require a medical/dental plan as I can use the one that my wife is on.
Thank you and good day.

LOL!
Do you have a rant generator? I can do one of these every now and then, but you put out some lengthy ones pretty quickly.
