Well I was just thinking about the White House full court press rather than just letting this story drop. I think they want to let it be known that they will fight and I think the want to respond to that small segment of voters playing attention at this point in the election cycle.
It does appear from the tracking polls that whatever bump the Clarke grandstand had for Kerry is short lived. But it of course worries me that the Dims are saving some kind of Oct. surprise whether it is true or just a lie.

Remember, two can tango and W's been nice for three years but knows that it is this year that he needs to continue to show his mature nature while more vigorously being defended all around him.
Clarke's testimony will be declassified and the Dems attack will blowback.

The problem is. If his documents supporting Bush and criticizing Clinton are made public... will the media even mention them??

I'm up, but I got about six hours of shuteye after falling asleep on the couch.
I'm more and more troubled by the antics of the pompous twit, Clarke. He better have a large jar of Vaseline at hand for the ram that is coming. He ain't seen (felt) nothin' yet!

I'm awake! I went to bed a few hours ago but can't sleep now, so the first place I turn to is FR.
This week was an interesting one. I think alot of people see
this as political and am hopeful they see this for what it is, Clarke just trying to sell his book.
To: leadpenny
I thought this thread interesting because I would like to know how many people have suddenly been struck with insomnia. I know of six on FR besides myself, and am wondering if there are more.
I have never had trouble sleeping, so it seems quite strange to me.

I hope you are right on how useful the money is and how well it is used.

To: GeronL
That is always problem number one but W and Co will make sure that this becomes a part of standard talking points (Sunday shows/stump speechs, etc.) The Dems are going to make a variety of idiotic statements around July during their convention which is shortly after the 911 commision releases their report.
Because the liberal press does not give any revelations their clear due does not mean we should not trumpet the truth in all our forums (internet/radio/bumper stickers/flyers/letters to the editor.)

I didn't sleep for three days after 9-11, and since then I tend to get up in the middle of the night to see if the World is still in one piece. Sometimes I go back to sleep.
BTW, possibly an interesting 48-minute speech from January on C-SPAN2's BookTV in about 15 minutes:
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Spies and Espionage
Speech
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Spies and Espionage
International Spy Museum
Carlisle, Rodney, Author
Mr. Carlisle talked about his book, The Complete Idiots Guide to Spies and Espionage, published by Alpha Books. The book is part of the Complete Idiot's Guide" series. In the book, the author examines various elements and facets of spying, including famous spies in history, spy technology, and the origins and tactics of espionage. Following prepared remarks, Mr. Carlisle responded to questions from the audience

What am I still doing up!?! I told myself I was going to bed earlier tonight. I probably won't watch the Sunday shows because I will be sleeping. I don't think Kerry is going to get much out of this Clarke thing. I'm just wondering what else the Dems have got in store. It could have an accumulative effect if they keep this up until November. The media is going all out to attack President Bush. They don't even try to pretend they are objective anymore. I caught Rather's program (some other guy filling in for him) Thursday(?). The first 15 minutes were dedicated to attacking President Bush. One of the later stories was how some old couple had their home foreclosed because they owed $120 to their HOA. I thought they were going to blame that on President Bush too. Well I better go to bed now. I've got to give my cat antibiotics (late doing this). He had a completely blocked urinary tract on Tuesday. Wednesday I took him to the vets to have surgery--they did a Lorena Bobbitt to him! Poor cat. No front claws, balls, and now no pee dab. Hopefully he's got some more lives in him--he's only 4.
