Clarke's Gets A Standing "O" from Peanut Gallery
Mensch

I wonder if those present at todays 911 hearing who applauded Clarke's admission that his 2001 'background briefing' to the press was "political", realized what they were applauding?

Does it not then follow that his recent celebrity is also political?

This guy has a grudge.

That EXCUSE works only for D's NOT R's.......Case in point; Gary Aldrich! The press IMMEDIATELY dismissed his book "UNLIMITED ACCESS" as nothing more than sour grapes by a disgruntled former employee.

Is it possible for anyone to be in anyway critical of the President without being scum? Maybe you can give me some examples of critics of the President that you dont think are scum. Thanks for your help.

Criticism is one thing, lying for political gain is quite another. Evidently, some people aren't able to tell the difference because of their blind hatred of Bush.

Yes. They're also the ones who believe they have veto power over 9/11-related images that may appear in campaign advertisements, and who believe that they have the final authority to oversee all redevelopment plans for the WTC site in Lower Manhattan.

I'm constantly appalled by all the spin on this. A few weeks ago, it was a high crime for Bush to even mention 9/11 in a campaign ad, according to these families. Now, it's perfectly okay to politicize 9/11, but only if Bush is bashed. These folks are incredibly inconsistent, to say the least.

If OUR side had deep pocket organizations like MoveOn, etc, we could run ads...the GOP worries too much about being called negative or mean, and they won't run ads telling America what a POLITICAL WHORE Clarke is.

I just had an odd dream. Clinton apologized & took responsibility, "just like Clarke", in order to put pressure on Bush to also apologize and take responsibility.

It would be a win-win for Clinton. If Bush doesn't apologize, Clinton looks good. If Bush does apologize, Clinton looks better.

I am afraid to go back to sleep.

Hi GA, Is it possible for anyone to be in anyway critical of the President without being scum? Maybe you can give me some examples of critics of the President that you dont think are scum. Thanks for your help.

I smell a ZOT. In any event, of course it is possible for people to be critical of Bush and not be "scum." I don't agree with the President on his immigration, abortion, and Medicare prescription drug benefit policies, and don't consider myself scum.

Dick Clark is unprincipled. He is talking out of both sides of his mouth for political and financial gain. Two years ago, Bush was doing great work fighting the terrorist threat. Today, because he has a book out, and because it's an election year, he's critical of the same president he was lauding before. That to me my friend is scummy and way you look at it.

The PRESS was instructed to ignore him (see Ann Coulter's current column)

I don't know...I don't have millions to run TRUTH ads...and the GOP has shown that it is "too nice" to run ads that show this lying SOB to be the political whore that he is.
