Clarke's Gets A Standing "O" from Peanut Gallery

I wonder if those present at todays 911 hearing who applauded Clarke's admission that his 2001 'background briefing' to the press was "political", realized what they were applauding?
Does it not then follow that his recent celebrity is also political?

And, as I said earlier (or maybe on another thread), as much as this Commission is a circus, had the congressional Dems gotten their way and had a congressional inquiry into 9/11, it would have the Mother of All Circuses, complete with three rings.

Anyone have Leslie Stahl's email address so that we can all freep and flood her inbox with critiques, and tell her that the she was doing "malpractice" liberal, one-sided journalistic reporting on 60-minutes. She acted like a first grader when she was "interviewing" and leading snake Clark into answering questions to fit into her agenda. She was soooo pathetic!!! Wish I could say that I did have her e-mail address, but sadly, I do not.
CBS and ABC have been particularly disgusting this election season. CBS refuses to mention anything positive about Bush -- such as the fact he had a large lead in the CBS/NYT poll. ABC ran a hit piece before the Superbowl glorifying moveon.org. The Dan "what's the frequency Kenneth" Blather and his Canadian High School Dropout friend really have it in for Bush. It's pathetic.

They suffer from a sociopathology, IMO. The sense of "victimhood" which they think makes them exempt from public criticism; the sense of self-righteousness; the sense that they alone have a right to grieve over 9/11 (which makes them somehow better than the rest of us who still grieve for our fellow citizens who were lost) -- all of this points to an over-bloated sense of importance which they then use to attempt to silence anyone who disagrees with them.
The ironic and tragic thing is that THEY are the ones using the events of 9/11 for personal and partisan gain.

What's the purpose of this circus? Point blame, or figure out how to better protect us?
This is an outrage!

We got hit by a sharp jab, and it stings alright. Our next punch will (to quote "Ice Tea") "knock 'em the E'ff out!
We are winning this without a doubt. Rush is right; they ARE self-destructing!

Good God!...Dick-"less" actually said that?! He's admitting he's an incompetent federal drone! He should be called on the carpet for his malfeasence!

I agree. I've seen a lot of presidential campaigns in my life, and this one is shaping up to take the prize as the Mythic-Battle-Of-Which-Songs-Will-Be-Sung-for-Generations. It will be the Armegeddon of political wars.

Call me old fashioned, but I think it is extremely undignified to applaud anyone at these hearings. I heard applause during yesterday's hearings. This is not suppose to be a political show. It is a serious inquiry into the worst attacks on America in recent memory.

Yes, they are.

Seriously, how can these people criticise President Bush for "using" 9-11 for politics, act like they are on the Springer show, like they did today, and sleep at night?

Hi GA,
Is it possible for anyone to be in anyway critical of the President without being scum? Maybe you can give me some examples of critics of the President that you dont think are scum. Thanks for your help.

"They're the enemy within. "
That is exactly right!! They are the enemy within. My husband and I call Democrats the "enemy of the people." But now I like "the enemy within" much better. Thanks for that!

Clarke's apology was a master stroke. Sure freaking was. Tom Brokaw just this minute asked Condoleeza Rice if Bush was ever going to apologize and take responsibility "like Clarke did".
And that is all the average TV viewer is going to remember, or know.

Ah to hell with Clark. By November it will have all been forgotten. Clark will just be a glitch on a radar screen that existed 8 months earlier. In fact, within two Sunday morning talk show cycles it will all blow over and we will be riveted on something else.

When are these damn, biased, won't tell you they are liberal, news anchors going to finally die of old age or retire? They are the enemy within too.

This entire circus just tells me that this nation has learned nothing from 9-11 and if we are hit again we have these weasels to blame. The entire blame of 9-11 goes to the bastards who planned and rammed the planes into the buildings. They are probably sitting back and laughing at all of us bickering with each other when we should be united. To hell with those weasels and the entire Democratic party. May they burn in hell.
To: GAGOPSWEEPTOVICTORY
The contradictions that you raise were, according to Dickie boy's testimony today, only BECAUSE GEORGE BUSH told him what to say at the press briefing.
