AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1156) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | March 25, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 03/23/2004 3:44:09 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Hamas has threatened retaliation for yesterday's killing of its leader, and has, for the first time, directly threatened the United States for terrorist activity.

OPEC is hesitating on production cuts, which is causing world oil prices to ease somewhat.

CBS' 60 Minutes did not reveal the stake that it's parent company had in selling Clarke's new book when it broadcast Clarke's interview Sunday last.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Dolly, yes, going without electricity is very common for us. I cannot remember a 24 hour period without at least one outage of varying length. For that matter, I cannot remember a 24 hour period without some rain, too.

It is uncommon for the outage to last 12 hours or to be long periods without (8 - 12 hours) several days in a row. It isn't good for us because we depend on electricity so much and it isn't good for at all for air conditions, refridgerators and computers.

TB, you have very admirable goals. I'm sorry for your parent's divorce. It usually impacts the children the worst. I am gratified to see that you have applied the lessons of it to your life and can see things to do and not to do. Three world series rings tell me that when you set a goal, you know steps to take to reach and that you can work with others. That is quite an accomplishment. Many don't learn those lessons until much later if ever.

And turning 20 on May 9 means that you are less than a month older than LionsDaughter.

I have another question for you, if you don't mind.

Iowa Granny - I've been on ATRW for a few years now, but I've been lurking lately. It's good to be back. :)

Jemian - I'm kinda laid up in bed right now, but I'm checking my computer every now and then. Shoot :)

I guess that is a mixed bag of news from the vet. I'm sorry she has had pancreatitis. I'm not familiar enough with that to know what type of prognosis that means. I thought I read that it isn't curable. But now I've gotten the impression that you can work with it, right?

Laid up?

I hope you're not a candidate for Freeper General, that you're in bed just because it's night there. But wait... it ISN'T night there, yet. I get mixed up with all the time zones.

Anyway, the question is, if you died tonight and meet St. Peter at the gate of heaven, what reasons would give him to convince him you should gain admittance?

An aside note, are the azaelas in bloom there yet? Has the forsythia been brilliant this year? Atlant (and indeed the whole south) is gorgeous in the spring.

I do, too. They look at you with such a pitiful expression. You do the best you can and you're not sure that it is really helping. Sometimes you have to do things that they do not like and you can't explain it to them.

Hehe, nah, I'm in bed because my neck is killing me and I've got a terrible cough.

As far as the St. Peter question..I wouldn't offer any specifics. I would just tell him that I've done everything I could in my short time here to be the best son, brother, friend, citizen, and human being that I can.

An aside note, are the azaelas in bloom there yet? Has the forsythia been brilliant this year? Atlant (and indeed the whole south) is gorgeous in the spring.

To be honest, I have no idea how anything grows here in the spring. One day it's 85 degrees, and the next night it's 40 degrees. I've lived here my whole life and I still have no idea what clothes to keep readily available at any given time. Flowers aren't exactly my forte; I grew up mostly surrounded by a diamond of dirt and grass. It is very green outside, though..if I weren't feeling so crappy I'd be out playing frisbee right now.

Dog, Rocke has had pancreatitis since he was 6 - he's now 12-1/2. It is strange stuff - at least in his case - and sometimes it crops up because I've been negligent with his diet and sometimes it just happens.

The last big attack he had the vet put him on a rice and chicken breast mixture. He can also have potatoes, which is lucky because they are his favorite thing, but the rice and chicken breast is his normal fare. The vet checked his teeth and we had to have a couple pulled that were iffy (and one that was impacted) as the vet thought that he might be getting bacteria from the teeth that would set him off with an attack.

Yes, it is a long hard slog, but worth it!

rice and chicken breast mixture

That is, essentially, what we feed our dogs. The basic food is rice. Then we give them some type of protein, chicken, sardines or eggs. They love it! I never waste my money on expensive dog foods. Primarily because they don't sell it here! HA! But the rice and protein diet seems to work.

It sounds like you have what is going around here. I hope I didn't give it to you!

My response to St. Peter would be slightly different. Actually, way different! Freepmail me (or ask me outright!) if you want to know my answer.
