Finish the run?

I didn't. Got a side stitch about halfway through the last long interval and had to drop back to a walk. I'll be repeating it on Friday. Just one of a long list of things I couldn't manage to accomplish today.

*sigh*

You still get an A for effort, Rosie :)

Thanks. Sure don't feel like I deserve an A for anything today! ;-)

It'd be comical if it wasn't so depressing.

Hi there... sorry... had to go back on the clock for a little bit there.

Today was basically good. Got to roll out our new remote access iPass wireless stuff now including T-Mobile in the mix. Any change, however, comes as a shock to primadonnas and they must be carefully adjusted into new things. Even when it requires no thought on their part.

Of course I will!

Do you have a first name? I can add her name to the prayer list at my church.

LOL, just got done with dinner a bit ago. We were discussing the fine points (if there are any) of letting elf-boy watch Spiderman. He, of course, was very interested in the outcome. So interested, in fact, that PE found him in our bed, fully clothed ~shoes and all~ and snoring soundly with a spiderman action figure. I was surprised since he almost never goes to sleep early anymore. I guess he was tired after the long day he and I had shopping!

BTW, KB-Toys is going out of business and everything is 40% off marked sales price. I bought elf-boy a spiderman action figure (same one he has sleeping next to him) sale price 7.99 @ 40% off. What a deal! (That was his reward for bearing with me in the maternity and baby shops)

Yeesh... these kids today.

They should all be saddled with a 300bps modem for a couple of years. That'll learn'em.

OK, Kimberly, I'm not religious, as you know, but I'm praying for Corin's Mom anyway.

Prayers for her.

Yeah, I did the run. I'm doing it again Friday. Almost died in the second interval. Ugh!

For the last half hour, I have been helping my grandmother log into her email account over the phone. I really try to keep in mind the fact that she's 65 and while she's used a computer, is not used to the internet. Or the mouse.

But, when for the first TEN MINUTES we're not even trying to log into Yahoo - I don't know where we were logging into, but it wasn't Yahoo - and then it takes five minutes for me to realize that the reason she's not getting Yahoo when I have her type in the address is because she typed out 'dot' - and then when I have to tell her "left click on the Mail picture - that's the left mouse button - yes, move the mouse there'... it's frustrating.

More so because my sister walked her through the exact same process yesterday. And because I was going to try to get some writing in after my homework and now that doesn't look happy.... and after I helped her and then told her I had homework to finish, she kept talking to me about how "your parents didn't tell me they were going out of town, why don't I have (specialized piece of equipment for her medical transcriptionist job that I have NO clue about)"... I was ready to chew off my own leg several times during that very long 35 minutes, if it would have helped.

Gah. But it's good to vent!

Darn, someone's going to accuse me of being hateful to my grandparents, again. To which I say, you can have all five of them.

Sounds like a good deal for elf-boy and mom!!! I had heard about K-B going out of business. The closest one to here is in Lawton but it was suggested that I might want to run over the river to pick up stuff for my grandkids. I thought better of it. I don't like goin' to Oklahoma.

Just a lot of little things, I guess. I played for that St. Patrick's Day concert today at noon, and didn't do well at all. I was more nervous than I've been in YEARS and flubbed notes a lot. Didn't help that I hadn't been able to practice with my brothers much...they were working on the two sets they did as a pair and didn't really care about the ones I was part of. The contrast made me feel even worse...they were VERY tight and together on their tunes...on the ones I played with them, the timing didn't feel right and it just didn't sound professional. Also we had agreed that Bilbo would start all but one, but at the beginning of each tune, he turned to me and whispered "go ahead!" Didn't help my nerves. I'm sure it was better than I think it was, but it wasn't a triumph, by any means.

And I didn't get anything done at work...still have unfinished problems to work on, things that should have been five or ten minute jobs that I spent all afternoon trying to figure out before finally giving up and going home.

And my tape player that I've been using during my run is broken - not wearing, it's a boombox. The tape door won't stay closed. It got moved around by people this weekend, so part of me wants to blame them, but there's no proof of that. I ended up wedging it shut for now, but it still isn't working very well.

And I didn't finish my run. And the heating company is heckling me. And Fiona gets a shot tomorrow and I still haven't figured out who's gonna give her her Benedryl an hour before the appointment or how much she needs...I'll probably have to ask for time off, but I hate too since I was out so much today.

OK. Long enough. You get the idea.

This kid likes gadgets. The geekier the better. I'd love a printer/scanner/copier but I can't quite justify the cost to myself. My computer doubles as entertainment station. At home, I'm wireless - can access internet anywhere. Including my bed, which is where I'm stretched out now.

Besides, the kid you saw probably has a cell phone, so who's talking? (I have one. It's on vibrate and nobody ever calls it, but if I get lost, it's there).
