The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I have them a lot, too...the bagel place is right on the way to work and the prices are reasonable. I stop there too often!
An everything bagel toasted with cream cheese...mmmmmmmm...
But I don't have them every day.

Funny thing is...I got to where I couldn't eat another one pretty quick...one morning I just got up and thought "That isn't very appealing."
Amazingly, I had only one left...out of all 72 when I bought that case of bagels and of all the ones my parents had bought me (they picked up a couple of containers of harvest blend bagels every time they went to walmart, till they quit selling them.) One left.
Joshua ate it!

Sorry for taking so long to reply, 2J, I've been away from FR last couple days, weirdly!
I hadn't even noticed the fish was on the wall in the photo I posted a couple days ago.
My son had caught it when he was 8 or so years old, out in the Gulf Stream. At 32 pounds, it was longer than he was at that age. Anyway, since I was an agent for one of the big taxidermy companies at the time, and could get a good price on mounting, I had the thing stuffed and put on the wall for him. Plus, of course, we ate it.
I really enjoyed your family picture and the one of the Jedis. You are a beautiful family.

Good morning everyone ..
Well, Hair after chatting with you last week, I ran right out and bought some silk flowers etc and started my creative juices flowing. My first project is the flower basket (julie insisted on carrying one) .. I'll have to send pics when I get them ...

Are you kidding? She really does want to rule the world. Through someone. I just joke about it. I've told her she's not allowed to rule through me.... sigh, well, out of six siblings, one has to be worthwhile.Ah, I'm starting to see how this ties into your plan to conquer Hawaii and rule the world through a surrogate from there. . .

Overtaxed, do you or anyone else remember how to make the background on one' s profile page a color, like black?
I remember you told me how, OT, but I forgot exactly what you said.
I got a freepmail from someone asking how I got mine black, but I can't remember what you said. Anyway, it worked.
Thanks.

Seriesly, moving IS something I'm kinda thinking about. Trouble is, to move I'd have to a) sell the house b) figure out what to do with all the animals (i.e. how to transport at least SOME of them - I refuse to give up Tam, no matter what), c) come up with money for the travel and figure out how to move a BUNCH of books, CDs and instruments and d) get rid of allll the rest of my stuff. It's pretty involved, and would be even if I were just moving a couple of hours away.Yeah, moving is complicated. Owning a pickup makes it easier! I guess you'd need to rent a truck or hire some movers. Which you could probably afford if you sold the house. Owning a house is nice, too, though. Sounds like a decision to pray on! :)

how to make the background on one' s profile page a color, like black? Put your profile stuff inside of a table tag, thus:
<table bgcolor="black" width="100%" height="100%"><tr><td>PROFILE STUFF HERE</td></tr></table>
You can also use a backgound image, like on my profile. Instead of bgcolor="black" inside the table tag, use background="URL"

D-28, maybe? Yeah, that's it. Shows how much I know about it!

Me too. I will be glad when this school year is over and this extra video project I have is over!
I had a weird dream last night. I kept hanging stuff on your clothesline and you kept calling me on the phone and telling me to stop! No, I don't get it! But, it's probably because I washed all my bedding on all beds this weekend and everything else in the house that I could think of. Hanging them all out on the line I kept thinking of you. :-)

I don't mind calling 2J "honey." You know, it's kinda the southern thing to do. :-)
