The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Chocolate has more antioxidants.
I bought three truffles at the candy store while I was out...tryin' for quality over quantity...

Yeah....fruit and oatmeal are good for ya. That's the ticket!Sounds perfect!
I'm thinkin' about makin' some chocolate oatmeal cookies for the troops too. If I have all the ingredients today. Not sure if I do. But, that would be good for them.
After that's all done I'm back to old westerns.

...so I'll do hot chocolate tonight. :)

...but then ice cream goes well with apple crisp. I think there's a fall off the sugar wagon in the near future.
To: Overtaxed
Ice cream is milk. You need milk. :-)
You got fruit, oatmeal and milk. How healthy can ya get?

And the more I eat, the healthier it is, right?
To: RosieCotton
Truffles... mmm... I'm eating a bar of carb-free chocolate. It's mildly chocolate. It helps the cravings, anyway, and I just have to lose a couple more pounds this month.

Hi all, what's been happening here today? I have spent a lovely day snuggling with my honey on the couch and watching TV movies ! ~smiles~
I made him watch Fried Green Tomatoes. ~overwhelmed with guilt~

Nothing has happened. We sat about all day. I have an excuse, my neck is stiff and doesn't want to move. So I've been watching anime.
Fried Green Tomatoes is cruel and unusual. You're not supposed to start on that stuff until after the wedding.

This is my treat for the week...I've been avoiding sweets during the week.
I think I'm going to start using fitday.com...there HAVE to be some calories I'm not considering, I'm thinking. Keeping track will keep me honest, though it's a pain. Maybe just for awhile.
Heh...I picked up a couple of used Tae-bo videos...they were cheap and I figgered what the heck...could at least look. I've always felt kinda leery of exercise videos, I guess because they're the sort of thing that's on daytime TV with the soaps and other shows of...well, dubious quality. Just tried out one workout. Aerobically I don't think it compares to running, but my stomach muscles feel like jelly and my legs are shaking, so it musta done SOMETHING. Ouch!
Time for truffles, a glass of milk and my book.

I didn't have the stuff for the chocolate oatmeal cookies. Forgot I needed 1/2 cup of milk. Don't have any.
Got the second batch of fudge goin' though.

Heh, thanks for the sympathy. She doesn't know this yet, but she's gonna have to watch a James Bond movie sometime to make up for Fried Green Tomatoes.

Moonraker?
To: Wneighbor
Unfortunately, no. I'll subject her to one of the good ones, though. I wouldn't make her watch something like Moonraker.
To: HairOfTheDog
Lookee! Lookee! Shelley won her first Qualifying score towards her Agility Dog title!

She almost placed in the money, too - 5th place against a lot more experienced dogs (not as crazy either). And in Snooker of all things. :-D

Just make sure it's a Sean Connery one and she'll get no sympathy from here over having to watch it! :-)
