The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

That one was a little too yuck for me, but then it was on when I was younger. All I really remember is that the characters were ugly things.

However, I found this:
1967 CAMARO, 327, street or strip,
and the Mustang idea kinda went out the window. I'll looking in the Waco paper and I know this car -- have driven it! :-)

I had to leave the vehicle searching pages. It is just not good. I just need to go look for myself a suitable new dependable pickup.

It sounds like you'd be a car dealer who would buy cars and never sell them--ROFL!

BTW...this Lunasa album may be their best yet. It's very, very good. Me likee. I'm still amazed and tickled that someone would just send me this out of the blue - fully autographed, even!
I'm listening to it for about the forth time now...keep hitting play when it stops. I tend to do that with new CDs I like, for awhile anyway. ;-)

I actually haven't seen one of those commercials. Um, I don't watch tv. Just anime, on my 15-inch laptop screen. Or sometimes action movies. So I've missed seeing the Quiznos things. I hear they look something like mutated dead rats?

RedwoodCan't you just put it on continuous play?

Powerpuff Girls are scary... really scary. One of the shows I try to avoid. They're largely spoofing old cartoons, as is Dexter's Laboratory. I guess if you haven't seen the cartoons they're spoofing you might not like them as much. If you've seen them, it's hilarious.
But then, American cartoons have been without redeeming value since Pinky and the Brain went off the air.
Pinky and the Brain was good--actually the Pinky and the Brain shorts on Animaniacs were even better IMO--but there have been a ton of good superhero cartoons since then. Most cartoons these days suck compared to older ones, but the superhero ones keep getting better and better--the various versions of Batman, Superman, Justice League, Spiderman, and X-Men, among others, are all very good.
To: Ramius
Ren and Stimpy. Best cartoon ever. One of the best :) But there's some stiff competition there: Bugs Bunny, Spiderman, Scooby Doo, Speed Racer, Superfriends, Battle of the Planets. . .

At my house... we have one tv. If Mom or Dad are home, they decide. If they're not - well, there are four brothers and my sisters either watch the stupid kid shows, or ignore it. So I never get to pick.
So, I buy my own!

Was I drinking at the time? :-) Have I ever talked with you when you weren't drinkin? :-)
Old stuff? I said that?
Yep, you said that. You didn't want any old stuff cause you wanted that new 2005. :-)
That leaves all things "old" to me. hehehe
My dad's mom bought one of those 64 1/2's in 64. My uncle drove us all over in that thing. I couldn't believe it when she sold it in '72 without giving any of us a chance to buy it from her.

So I never get to pick. That's rough! I hope you can get cable when you go to college--watch Boomerang if you want to see some good classic cartoons :) Cartoon Network has a few good ones mixed with a bunch of crap--out of their stuff I like Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, X-Men, Batman, Superman, Justice League, Teen Titans (which is very anime-ish), and their occasional anime slots.
So, I buy my own!
We simply must get you a copy of the Whole Toon Catalog.
