The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, today I was reminded of what 2J went through not too long ago. We shoulda had that foot moot already cuz my heel cracked either last night or this mornin. It isn't bleedin or anything gross, it just really hurts to walk. Okay, it hurts to walk no matter what, but you know what I mean.
I must really be waddling these days too cuz the old guy who works at the grocery store asked me today if I wanted to use the scooter to do my shopping. I laughed and told him I *need* to walk, even if it hurts.

We think the pups will be Merry and Pippin! Planning on getting two litter mates - first choice would be males... I guess it doesn't really matter if they be male or female with those names.

Profile page? I don't need no stinkin' profile page! You gotta admire anyone who puts an 18K TV on their registry. No shrinkin' violets around here.

It's an important question.
Just don't ask me why.

I can take a picture Wednesday. I will be gone from 8 AM to 9 or so tomorrow night... but, I'll do it Wednesday!
That would be another item of my frap I could get rid of if ya'll could use 'em! :-)

I think if it must be so, it will be so!

If someone buys the TV for you -- just make a wall big enough. TV will be worth more than the wall!
To: msdrby
Oh dear! You didn't give that old guy a mean look didja? LOL
Sorry about your heel! Are you doing stuff for it now?

The TV is more than this house can justify.... We would have to move, and it would upset our entire life.

can't find my good lotion...DOH! I think still have some of grandma's avon though. That massage therapy lotion avon puts out is good stuff.
I have been remiss on my water consumption. I noticed that yesterday evening. To compensate, today I drank three glasses of milk at lunch, and a tall glass of water while cooking dinner, and another while eating dinner. BTW, all that liquid severely limits the amount of food one can eat... good diet tip, must remember.

Well, it's just not wall ~space~, it's wall ~strength~! I don't think our cardboard walls could hold that thing up.
TV will be worth more than the wall!
TV will be worth more than the house! Then of course we would have to invest in a home theater sound system to go with it, and a new DVD player, and a new couch to sit on while watching it, and...

Yep! They say all diets oughtta start with lots and lots of water. I don't know... I drink water all the time anyway... but it sounds like it might work!
I can't use Avon stuff. Too much of it I'm allergic too. I have a couple of fair foot lotions but I still mostly just use olive oil.... to which I add some rosemary and mint that I grow.

LOL, I hope I didn't give him a mean look. He was just trying to be nice to me. I may have been wincing in pain though, cuz I had been sitting for awhile in the car. Seems to me that walking ~really~ hurts when I have been sitting for more than 5-10 minutes.
Getting out of the car these days is somewhat comical as well. This morning, I was at Target, looking for a place to get a certain battery, and a DIY photo reproducer like the ones at walmart. So, I get there and start to get out of the car and HONK! I about jumped outta my skin. The guy in the car next to me just looked at me, then it dawned on me that I was the one who had honked the horn... with my purse.

ROFLMAO!!!
I thought you were gonna say the baby honked the horn though! :-)
I'm thinkin' maybe that baby's coming earlier than you think she is. You think maybe?
Has she dropped any? Or can you tell?

If you're that tuckered why don't you do more than just hit it? You could use it.... to sit on... or lie down on... or snuggle with your sweetie. Hitting it seems to not accomplish much really! :-)
