The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

LOL...I actually LIKE the VeggieTales songs. Autumn and I sing them all the time, and it drives Jess nuts.

"I feel stho sthwell and handsthome in my hat, I bet that othersth wisth they had in fact, a hat as this, a hat as that, a hat so fine, a high silk haaaaaaat. Oh Mr. Art Bigotti, now whadaya think of that?"

There's a new Christin book store that opened up right near our house, they've got SCORES of VeggieTales gear. Games, stuffed dolls, t-shirts, CD-Roms...darn near everything that I could never find before. Looks like Autumn's birthday will be all sewn up with one trip there! lol

As ready as I'm gonna be! :-)

2J - I haven't heard that song yet. I'd better get the album so I can stay ahead of the game. *grinning*

Bye for now!

And don't forget the butterfly-winged, bunny-slippered Balrog!!

LOL...I thought he looked more like the Heat Miser!

We couldn't stop laughing at how FIDGETY everyone was! I was yelling at the TV..."SAM! CALM DOWN!!" I wanted to duct-tape his hands together

I do too! I love the Veggie Tales songs. We even bought the sing-a-long tapes for our vehicles so we can jam down veggie style :-) LOL!

LOL...I know what you mean.

It's the first thing Autumn does when she wakes up, is turn the CD player on and spin the disk.

Every morning, I'm walking down the stairs to:

"If...you...like...to...talk to tomatoes..."

(and she cracks up when I sing "His Cheeseburger", while doing my best vocal impression of Mr. Lunt. "YEAH he'll wait for you-ou!")

No, I love Veggies too. Just not in class, at work, in the car... Veggies are great. We own almost all the videos.

"Earworm"--never heard that term before--that's a good word for when that happens :) Actually I like that song okay, just not sure I want it stuck in my head for the next couple hours. . .Might have to find something else to put on here. Let's see, I can always run Rankin-Bass RotK songs in my head. . .

I had a really nice visit with my little brother and his family too.

...Which is saying something, because I don't normally get along so well with his wife...but I had a series talk with her about how I had hoped that if anything ever happened to Steve and I, that they would take the boys and raise them. She just cried, told me they would be happy to and we got along great after that.

I say if Fedora doesn't give us a picture, we use that one to represent him in our photo album....

That is my picture--LOL! :) I do have some pictures, but I don't have anywhere to upload them to. I guess I could send someone an attachment via regular email if they can post it--who posts those, ecurbh?

It's been mostly-dead all day. For me, anyway.

I LOVE the photo album idea, but not my picture. Ah well. It'll do for now!

Your family sounds alot like mine. The three of us are always singing to something. Jeric LOVES Elvis too. We bought his last CD released, a year ago January for my birthday, that has 31 of his greatest hits. Jeric would listen to that all day every day if I let him. And he loves Ricky Martin, Selina, the Mambo #5 CD.

Man, am I warping my kid!

How's the weather? We've had all rain... it's stopped for now. I'm a little worried about getting home, once it gets dark and the ice starts to form. At least we didn't get much snow.

It's not supposed to start for a few hours here. Sounds like we may get about six inches. I guess I can live with that.
