The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yes, I've been catching up on the stats... I'll post a two-fer tomorrow or Friday.
Rose had a cold too, actually worse than mine as she missed a couple of days of work with it. But she's feeling better now (better than I am).

I've actually only been to one wedding in my life, which is very odd, I know...but we didn't live close to family and all the families we've been friends with over the years have kids that are younger than me...as was the one friend who's wedding I went to, for that matter.
Hers was very simple and nice - all the attendents were either her siblings or his (they both are the oldest of big families), and the reception was catered by a family friend. I still was practically hyperventilating at all it involved. Luckily her mother was able to arrange a lot of it.

This is the first time I have seen a message board conversation move as fast as on in an IRC chat room... wild'Specially when there are five conversations going and you are only really keeping track of three. Out from nowhere, someone screams Loose Horse!!!!

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. My attorney was pouring beer on his chest to facilitate the tanning process. No sense telling him about the bats, I thought, he'll see them soon enough...

'Course I hope Sonya and Donna (and anybody else) knows where you're registered so they can spread the word if needed or you might end up with a bunch of ecru towels or something.

That's a long-lived kitty! :) My cousin had one that got up to 12-16, I think. Mine lived to about 10.One of my backpacking friends had a female cat that lived to 26 years.

oh... just the usual "giant man-eating worm" problem. [whew] I was afraid it was something really bad.

good evening!
To: Ramius
We had two bags of grass, seventy-
five pellets of mescaline, five
sheets of high powered blotter
acid, a salt shaker half full of
cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-
colored uppers, downers, screamers,
laughers... Also a quart of tequila,
a quart of rum, a case of beer, a
pint of raw ether and two dozen
amyls.

I'm going to elope, too. Or at least have a really, really small wedding.Very, very small, yep. And the sum total of the "reception" being going downstairs for cake and ice cream. At least that's the way I think it should be!
