The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Well...THIS time around I managed to finish Day 2. Woo-hoo! Just barely and at a very slow pace, but hey, it's the finishing that counts! I think I'm just gonna repeat on Friday, though.

What time is your flight tomorrow?

Man...I'm hungry. Preparing a very late dinner and it won't be done for another five minutes. Hope I can make it that long...

I tried to do that. I poured a shot into the keyboard, but now my computer is just staring back at me and won't respond. It just giggles.

Well, it's the thought that counts, so thanks :) Think I'll go have a wine cooler and pretend it's Wild Turkey then.

My "anxiety dream" is that I'm supposed to take an exam . . . first I can't find the room . . . then I remember that I never bought the books and never went to class . . . then when I find the room and sit down and open the blue book, the exam is written in a foreign language that I don't know . . . .

But my favorite anxiety dream of all is my dad's: he's on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, the overture is playing, and he doesn't know his part. Sometimes he doesn't even know what opera he's in.

smiling helps relax the face muscle

Blank stares also work hehe. Yeah a number of headache types are almost not really avoidable through normal means. My biggest way to avoid them is to goof off and not let stress build up :P Stress prevents any relaxing and messes it all up.

What about a dream where I'm at the office with a machine gun, and I'm walking around but just shooting people's coffee cups out of their hands?
Is that bad?

That depends... was there coffee in the cups? Was the machine gun belt fed or magazine fed?
Spilling peoples coffee is just down right rude.

The dream within a dream stuff gets kinda' spooky sometime

Oh yeah, those are pretty freaky. What is odd is when you are having a very strange dream and have a dream in that dream that is mostly normal. oooo confusing :P

Etiquette help!!!!

We are getting ready to send out the wedding invitations, and we haven't made note of our gift registry... I don't like to tell people where we are registered because we think it is presumptuous.... as if we are expecting presents, because we aren't. But if family and such did want helpful suggestions.... well.... we filled out a registry.

Should I wait until people ask if we are registered? We aren't 19 years old and without household items, and we truly do not need anything and don't need for people to go out and get us presents just 'because' we are asking them to come to the wedding.

Especially realistic dreams about waking up. I've had dreams about very normal stuff...like trying to find my socks before work. And I'll put them somewhere...and when I REALLY wake up, I look where I put 'em and of course they aren't there. Morning fog is a doozy sometimes.
