The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Oh my, in that case!

Cuban culture dictates that if we refuse a pregnant woman anything she desires, we have a curse placed upon us.

Just remembered!! The other day, it was chilly out, and elf-boy was wearing a hooded sweatshirt. He put on the hood, and his ears stuck out. He was the spitting image of Quark, LOL! Wish I had a picture of that...
I told him he looked like a Ferengi, and he got the biggest kick out of that. He has no clue what a Ferengi is, hehhehe.

He looks like John Cusack in that picture.
All he needs is a boombox held up over his head. *laughing*

No Moria for me, thanks. I like to dwell on the outside of the mountains. ;-) All Hobbits need to feel the sun shining on their faces and cool breezes through open windows.
But haven't you ever wanted to go on an adventure?--or is that not respectable among Harfoots? :)

LOL! He sure seems to have a lot of superpowers from alien races! He doesn't like Superman, too, does he?--you didn't find him in a crashed spaceship or anything, right? :)
To: RMDupree
I guess that answers that question. :-)
At least he's tall - 6' 2 1/2"

Very vivid vocabulary! :)

I live vicariously through other folks' adventures. I prefer to keep the tea boiling, the bread baking and the ale flowing!
Besides, setting out a plate of bacon in this place is quite the mini-drama.
