The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...
Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
But not yet weary are our feet...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yeeeha!
She goes tearing up the A-frame, then hits the brakes at the top with her hind feet, and says, "Whoa! It's steep on this side!" She picks her way down, and I don't discourage her because I don't want her to fly off halfway down and get an NQ! We are getting loads of time faults at this point because we are working very slowly, but I'd rather she go clean and then we'll start worrying about her times.
She is one very hot dog, so the speed will come naturally as soon as we have accuracy.
Love your Crazy Dog graphic, BTW.

Our safety guy is a muslim. I hate to trash him cause he is really a fine fellow, smart, and a nice guy. But he's been known to mumble that the US does things that deserves the mid-east hatred of us. And we know he won't vote for Bush. All of us in this office are pretty much Reagan/Bush advocates. When he comes around we all get very quiet.

But he's been known to mumble that the US does things that deserves the mid-east hatred of us. Hrm... That fella wouldn't last too long working for us. Red White and Blue oozes from every pore 'round here- we'd make him miserable.

Way to focus Shelley!
I got a Jeep Cherokee a few months back. It's too high for Gilligan to jump into. So I tried a ramp. . . and he decided it was better to stay home. An agility dog he ain't!
(he gets to ride - if I pick him up and put him in)

Is he gay?

Can Gilligan get in by a side door?
When Shelley was a puppy, I built a ramp out of a piece of plywood, with cleats to stiffen it and to give her a foothold. It had a couple of blocks to hook onto the top of the rear bumper of the Expedition. I made it wide enough that it didn't feel narrow to her (a little wider than their natural stance is a good idea).
It worked fine. Of course she can now jump in without any intervention whatever, but that's because she's only 3 and skinny as a rail (for a Lab).

Well, he's a home office guy, and he hangs out up there in DC with the big bosses. Only comes around twice a year. And we all sit on our lips while he's here. But we also display all our supporting Bush and the TROOPS stuff.

I have no idea, it's just a tease I pull on Miss Hair from time to time.

Just 'cause a guy is prettier than the average women...doesn't mean he's gay. ;-)

I don't know about the average woman, but I'll grant he's prettier than this menace:
