The Hobbit Hole VII - But not yet weary are our feet...

Posted on 03/15/2004 1:45:41 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

But not yet weary are our feet...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

>Heh... my brothers all got Spiderman underwear for Christmas...

That must make you feel pretty left out!

They have Wonder Woman Underoos for girls :) My brother had the Spiderman ones. I had Hulk :)

Amazing, just today, Elf-boy picked out Hulk Underoos at the store. (He already has two sets of Spiderman ones.)

(It's JPL.)

Though now that I think about it, Stevens could pass for a Took with a severe glandular problem I suppose...

Our littlest alternates Spiderman with Toy Story. Odd combo, but it makes him happy. Or at least, he keeps them on, which is the big thing.

Besides, she was kind of stupid, not a cool superhero.

'scuse me? WonderWoman was way cool, especially with her invisible jet and that "Elven" lasso she carried around.

I don't want to ask how you know about Wonder Woman underoos.

Commercials--don't worry :)

Besides, she was kind of stupid, not a cool superhero.

She looked pretty cool to me. . .

I think I'm thankful that you are older than underoos too! That's something my *kids* had!

His Jedi powers are manifesting themselves early. . . :)

Mmm, whatever, I never found a 'cool' superheroine. Had to settle for Eowyn and such. What a loss.

Sad to say, my parents didn't buy me underoos. They bought me the Days of the Week panties.

Are Spiderman and Toy Story on the same side or do they fight each other? :)

Wonder Woman was OK... though even as a kid I figured that there was no way on God's green earth that those h@@ters were real.

Now Jeannie... THAT was a whole differn't story...

Hmm... I think the characters in Toy Story would all be classified as "chaotic good". So probably, same side.

Um, I'm going to bed. See everyone tomorrow afternoon, unless we get mega snow, in which case it'll be tomorrow morning.
